So guess who's back with more stuff? My summer job took up WAY more time than I had anticipated, but now I'm back at school and have a bunch more free time! (There's something I never thought I'd say...)

Anyway chances are nobody's noticed but I've made a small update to all of the character models I've already posted- they now have eyebrows! I really like drawing eyebrows on characters since they add so much to expressions.

One of the more major changes was a serious revamp of Bludgeon's head, which now looks WAY better I think. (New one on the left, old on the right.)

Skydive

Skydive is from the Cybertronian colony planet Aerion, which is most notable for being the place where intigrated flight technology was first developed. When the planet’s leader, Starscream, announced that they would be siding with Megatron’s Decepticons during the Great War, Skydive was one of the few rebels who joined the Autobots instead. They formed a faction known as the Aerialbots, the logo of which he proudly still wears despite the fact that they stopped functioning as a single unit after the war.

Probably the most notable thing about Skydive is how reclusive he is. Unless called out for a mission briefing he’s often in his lab, tinkering with various devices of his own making. They say he used to be more open until something happened to him. Now he’s known to question the moralities of some well-known bots, even going so far as to say he’s seen Decepticons that are more ethical than them. Needless to say this has resulted in him being… unpopular with certain bots.

I know, I’m getting to that. What? Oh, not you, I was talking to- nevermind.

So he makes a lot of these gadgets, which are usually pretty useful- that gold band around his wrist grants him limited invisibility for a short amount of time. He’s also pretty good with a sniper and dual rapid fire guns. What do humans call them? Uzis, right. Thanks, Kup.

Being an Aerialbot, he obviously has the ability to fly in both robot and vehicle modes. Unfortunately this also makes him quite a bit larger than the average Autobot, so he has to duck down to fit through a few doors on the Athenia. Strangely, I think he’d rather study flight than actually fly- he doesn’t take to the skies unless absolutely necessary, unlike just about every other member of planet Aerion I’ve met.

Most of the inspiration for Skydive's gadgets come form Team Fortress 2, most notably Sniper and Spy (though unlike Rattrap his actual design doesn't homage these characters). Aerion is a new planet I invented and is also the home of Cybertronian flight technology, though not every bot who can fly is from there.

Hm, I see what you mean- I'll try to work on that a bit more.

Technically it's part grenade launcher, part sticky launcher and part sticky jumper. But yeah.

If I'm giving people feels without even having the comic started I guess I'm doing something right.  

Really it's just various shades of green.

Niether- I have yet to finish Strika's alt mode, and Crasher has been dropped form the main cast and replaced with a gender-bent version of Offroad.

He has been known to indulge in some drinks... a lot.

Skydive as a tech guy and a recluse...ok I like it. His design is good and the idea of Starscream being a leader of his own homeworld...interesting.

man Bludgeon is an improvement too.

Thanks! The other Aerialbots definitely exist in the universe, and while I've sketched designs for them I don't know if they'll make an appearance.

Yeah, I basically took the 'book nerd' part of his bio and figured he'd use his time to not only read but study how to build and use other weapons.

And yeah, I wanted to do something a little different with Starscream and the Seeker.

Next up is Offroad (AKA Crasher's replacement)



Offroad

Offroad is from the relatively small, rural Cybertroninan town of Yuss, and as such speaks with a heavy accent. Her time living there has had a noticeable affect on her personality, as she fits into the stereotype of being ‘rude, crude, and dirty.’ She demonstrates little to no respect for any other bot, whether they be an ally or an enemy, unless she sees the bot in question as someone who can help her achieve her personal goals.


Her place on Bludgeon’s team has often been taken into question, as she has no particular skills to bring to the group. Bludgeon has explained that he brought her onboard exactly because she was relatively normal, but is extremely persistent. Indeed, Offroad does not easily give up, even when doing so would be the best calculated coarse of action. Because of this she is notable for having one of the highest success ratio of any Decepticon on Bludgeon’s team, but also the highest amount of accidental self-damage.

She is armed with a shotgun that she does not hesitate to show off in a threatening way. Her aim is rather sub-par, often replying on the weapon’s spread to do damage to her target.

So like I said, Offroad is the replacement for Crasher. This is mainly because I made Crasher based entirely on an idea for her design with little idea what I wanted her personality to be. Offroad, on the other hand, came to be when I was tinkering with Megatronski's idea of a the new Combiner Wars characters being females. I sketched her a vehicle mode that looked like an exaggerated version of movie Ironhide's truck mode, which inspired me to make Offroad a large, loud fen-bot with a heavy Texan accent.

WELL BUTTER MY BISCUT AND CALL ME......you get where this is going. Great work as usual Lego the design just screams ass-kicker.

 

Her head looks a little small on her body, but otherwise, Offroad looks pretty good!

I like that you strayed from the CW toy design with the body, while still managing to make it look very much like Offroad

 

Offroad sure is a big girl....that means more to love.
