I love how you mention that double posting is frowned apon whilst editing a post, and then double post nonetheless.
Ah, but I if I had not done so, I would have no one else's post to reply to when I went to update the thread, and thus, I would still be double posting. The Dinobots have always been a tough subject for me. I love dinosaurs, and I love the idea of having Transformers that turn into dinosaurs, but rectifying the robot-dinosaur altmode is always tricky when scanning is involved- there aren't a lot of robot dinosaurs around. That, and having them stick out in a cast of vehicles... it's just tricky. Until I figure out a way around that, here's Scorn: forum image hosting Scorn is angry. Nobody knows exactly why. Maybe something's off in her circuitry, maybe someone betrayed her long ago, maybe she lost all other emotions while brawling in the pits of Kaon- nothing's for certain. What can be said about her is that she is a merciless warrior, a titan clad in heavy reactive armor, equally at home charging through the front lines or raining artillery down on her foes from a distance. Most of her allies prefer that she does the latter, as they'd like to avoid her temper whenever possible. Regardless of her attitude, she is well-respected by her commander, Grimlock- but perhaps only because he doesn't want her ire directed at him. Scorn transforms into a (fictional-but-plausible) large self-propelled howitzer. Her upper body is formed by the turret, which splits in an asymmetrical pattern that puts half of the ammunition stores on her left shoulder and the other half on her back. Her lower body is formed by the treads, the chassis, and the heavy skirt armor. She has a flip-out battle-mask for added movie homage.
I love how creative this Scorn is. She kinda looks like the Orion Pax toy, though that was probably unintentional. Great job!!
Thanks. I see what you mean about the OP toy, she has that same sort of sloped chest and big, chunky legs.
I'm pretty certain I started this tradition last year, but don't quote me on it. Canonically, May 8 is Katniss' birthday. So I try to draw a picture of her eating cake. Generally with a few Paradox Fighters characters thrown in for good measure. So here's this year's version, done a little more quickly than usual: post img
Okay, I'll admit this isn't really my best design. It's actually based off of a concept I had years ago for a Transformer version of Nightbird. Eventually, I decided that it doesn't make sense to have a ninja be HUGE, so I applied the concept to another character, with mixed results: upload pictures online Dreadwing is a mysterious menace. His massive Scrapmaker Oscillating Barrel Cannon was designed for use against starships, but he prefers to use it to lay waste to groups of Autobots from a comfortable distance. It's said that Dreadwing was actually one of the legendary Super-Seekers, gigantic fliers created by Shockwave to counter large Autobot superweapons like Omega Supreme, but Dreadwing has since created his own legend. He sweeps onto the battlefield silently, sets up a position behind his armored cloak, and doesn't stop firing until his opponents have been reduced to spare parts. Dreadwing transforms into a fictional-but-plausible stealth bomber, like some designs for the Long Range Strike Bomber project. The cockpit and fuselage form his legs, while the engines form his arms. The biggest feature of his transformation is that the wings split up and form a "cloak" that shields the inner robot, a la Crossbone Full Cloth.
Double-posting be damned, consider it a twofer! EDIT: forgot to crop my picture! So far, I've done two evil characters and two good ones, the two evil ones both being large aircraft and the good guys being large ground vehicles. So let's mix it up, then, with a car-bot! Huzzah! screen shot on pc Chromia is as tough as nails- having been raised on the outer edges of the Sea of Rust, and having lived for some time on Nebulos, she's used to the harshest conditions known to Cybertronians. She took it upon herself at an early age to protect the innocent and those too weak to protect themselves, and eventually became something of an unofficial law-lady, settling disputes and keeping the peace on and off Cybertron. Her skill as a trick shot is legendary, as she's long been reputed to throw knives and fire her revolver with perfect accuracy- simultaneously! Many Cybertronians ask Chromia about her unusual helmet. She informs them that the thin atmosphere of Nebulos allows a great deal of radiation to reach the planet's surface, so the residents have designed many ways to defend themselves from the deadly rays, her broad-rimmed hat being one of them. Apparently, it can also hold fuel in an emergency. But behind her back, everyone thinks it looks awful silly. Chromia transforms into a modified Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, with a transformation scheme that references the Z Cars (Prowl, 'Screen, 'Streak) of G1. I got the idea for her hat (and by extension, most of her character) from the bucket-shaped head of the original Chromia.
Okay... after a long and arduous process, I was able to redeem my free code for Photoshop Elements 12. Here are the fruits of my labor, and my Bamboo tablet:
What's that? Something about double posting? Ehh. This is mostly an "I'm not dead yet" post while I rustle up some actual content. It's not even Transformers. I drew this about a year ago when I was discussing Sm4sh with a friend of mine, and we came to the conclusion that Luma is pretty much Rosalina's stand. Madness ensued. image hosting free
Here at Porkulus' Miscellaneous Sketch Thread, we push the limits of what can be posted in a Transformers fan art subforum, like advertisements for fanfictions that don't exist yet.
So everybody around here has a name for their own Transformers universe, but it seems like most of the good ones that fit into the classic "Transformers: Descriptive Noun" formula have been used. So does anybody have any recommendations for slick titles? My universe (I've actually got a bit written, but I would re-write it before posting it here) doesn't really have any sort of overarching theme, it's just a general re-imagining of the Transformers canon with elements from a variety of series, so I don't know of any good descriptive words to go after the colon, so to speak.
