With all of the Platinum 5-pack exclusives coming out, I believe that there should be at least one more set created- a Decepticon themed set. In this fashion, all one has to do is buy all three 5-packs, and they basically have all of the cast of AOE. KSI Uprising: Galvatron- A painted and chromed up version of the current Galvatron figure, that gives the mold a darker complextion. More paint apps. Stinger- The first release of this character. A red repaint of Bumblebee, with green eyes on the battlemask. Lockdown- This release involves a head mod so that Lockdown has his green battle mask, instead of his retail release face. Junkheap- A repaint of the Hound mold with a new head. There was a custom of this character somewhere, but I have yet to relocate it. Deadlock- A black repaint of Drift, with yellow, red, and white highlights. Originally, I wanted to include Trax and Two Head in the set. I would have used a Crankcase mold for Trax, but the render did not fit to good, and there was too much red on the box art any way. A similar problem emerged with Two Head, as I could not find any good renders that would fit with the box style. I know that this is not my best work, but I wanted to do something different, rather than to just repaint the toys.
Am I the only one who, instead of seeing new 'bots created just for selling them in a KSI five pack, would rather we have Galvatron & Stinger alongside Lockdown and a couple of minions? Since it is kind of inferred that the cars Cemetery Wind drives are Transformers, then just repaint two Stockade figures to look a little more like them. Stockade transforms into a Cadillac Escalade, which is what the on-screen Vehicons (which I believe to be Cemetery Wind's cars) turn into. Plus, Stockade was (& still is) a really good toy. He's held up well, so why not just use his mold for a couple of Vehicons?
I like the idea, although Lockdown is a little out of place considering the scene it's supposed to be referencing. I know none of them are spot-on accurate, but Lockdown just doesn't fit the bill too well I like the idea of a Premium painted Galvatron though, and Stinger and Junkheap would be awesome too! But yeah, I'd take out Deadlock and Lockdown. Perhaps replace once with a Vehicon 'Trax', repainted from DOTM Jolt, and the other with Stockade, as Warpshard mentioned
I hope Hasbro and/or Takara Tomy does something like that. But take out Lockdown and Deadlock and add a Chevy Trax and the Oreo Decepticon and I'm sold.
If Hasbro are insisting on making them into 5 Packs then I hope we get something like a 'Villains & Heroes' 5 pack with Galvatron, Lockdown & Stinger vs High Octane Bumblebee and (just because they seem intent on including a second voyager) Helicopter mode Drift. Though, they'd probably use yet another variant of Evasion Optimus... That way at least all of the Generations versions on the onscreen characters would get premium/more accurate paint jobs (including both of Bee's modes). I did wonder why they don't use that mould instead of Crankcase in the Breakout Battle set.
Warpshard, Transformerswars, and AOEGalvatronRox. All of your ideas would greatly improve this box set. I did not really know if Lockdown was apart of KSI or not, as I have not seen the movie yet . But I did not have many character art options to work with. I may incorporate Trax and Oreo in my Generations Extinction post so that I can finish that combiner.
