What a bummer, someone got suckered. 1985 G1 VINTAGE TRANSFORMERS MENASOR GIFT SET MIB | eBay You can see the comparison I have here... http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...-ko-high-quality-menasor-giftset-reissue.html
shame ... cest la vie, buyer beware. I understand why eBay started censoring the names of bidders for privacy reasons ... but sometimes in cases like these you wish you can contact the bidders and just tell them.
A serious collector would notice the unapplied rub signs in the pics. Whether or not the seller is aware of it being a fake I'm not sure. His fake Devastator 1985 G1 VINTAGE TRANSFORMERS DEVASTATOR GIFT SET MIB | eBay His fake Superion (he's got two of these) 1986 G1 TRANSFORMERS AERIALBOTS SUPERION GIFT SET MIB | eBay Looks like some people are gettin screwed this week. ~Z
I'm going to go out on limb here and say the seller is unaware. He/She seems pretty keen on showing the unapplied rub signs which is a dead give away that they're KO. Now the ethical question of the day, should one of us contact the seller and tell them that they're selling KO's?
Agreed. I noticed the rub signs right away. If someone spends $450 on a collectible and obviously doen't do their homework, I can't really feel sorry for them.
These things are all over ebay, I almost got scammed too. These guys pretend "they had no idea" yet they placed the rub stickers in the correct spots. Call it original and know full well what there doing. AFA had become the only way to be sure of what your getting. check this out lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/19057286204...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_7758wt_1393
I've been wondering about the so-called pre-rubbed things as being recent rub-signed ones that had the stickers removed. I know when I buy the rub-signed figures, I almost always remove that sticker simply cause I think it's ugly.
I put in a report. I think it is BS posting something as vintage. Sure buyer beware et al but where is the decency?
Theres so many sellers doing this now and people are getting fooled. Really the KO market is killing MIB collectors. No telling what you will get these days.
Yeah the situation sucks cause the buyer ends up thinking he has a legitimate item. I have seen people buy these items and displaying it as their most prized possession then when someone who knows more about KO and the hobby tell them it is a KO. It brings them down alot. Alot of them are someone who is trying to get into the hobby as well
I enjoy contacting sellers and calling them out. Its getting ridiculous. There was a guy selling a MISB high grade Prime, but its was one of those "mysterty" Primes with the copyright blacked out on the back. It sold for a high $ amount, he claimed ignorance but the auction ended before anything changed. A seller from Thailand. It really is the buyer who needs to do their homework, but some of those fakes are so close. The High End tf guide is such a big help in identification.
