Good catch - Reported. Bids are high, so let's hope this gets taken down.

I was dumb & I paid - sort of!

I bought a new "NIB" Onslaught b/c was too lazy to go to a local store. I normally don't buy from folks who aren't listing lots of TFs b/c they usually don't know what they're doing. One exception: for a current figure that is MISB/NIB/MOSC/etc. Mostly I'm okay, but this time I got bit!

NIB! TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE ULTRA CLASS ONSLAUGHT TOY - eBay (item 380105102613 end time Feb-19-09 21:40:30 PST)

The photos - if I had looked - tell it all. Needless to say, I took more photos and got my $$$ back minus return shipping. However the seller had some "choice words" that were worth the shipping costs and sealed the return. In short, avoid this person! Also, item was from UK/Australia and possibly stolen. Hasbro is looking into it.

I feel like such a , oh well - live, burn, learn...

Odd cuz it seems 'new in box' can mean a lot of things. MISB is the one you want as far as never been opened condition but I know guys that have opened items and re-sold them as MIB meaning it's still mint but the box has been opened, maybe even TF'd once or twice. New in Box could just mean opened, maybe tf'd once, twice or half in this case and put back in. it doesn't suggest the box condition or the amount of time the figure spent out of the box. All in all I think if I was the seller I would have been bummed by the return cuz he has fairly clear photos of what he's selling there

Good points. So much for titles and 1am eBay shopping! Seems I got to check the pics every time...oh well. Other problems were that 2.0 Onslaught has two canons and this one had only one. The pics also show that, but then I didn't look carefully enough. However as even the one canon was knocked off, can't say "NIB"...

Still, thanks for clearing that up about the acronyms. That helps!

Beware of this Starscream auction!

Shill bidding at it's finest!

Here's the old auction:
AFA 80 MISB G1 TRANSFORMERS STARSCREAM PRE-RUB 75 80 95 - eBay (item 310123099471 end time Feb-23-09 10:12:00 PST)

Here's the new auction:
AFA 80 MISB G1 TRANSFORMERS STARSCREAM PRE-RUB 75 80 95 - eBay (item 310127208656 end time Mar-13-09 10:17:19 PDT)

I guarantee that there will be a bidder with the id a***s(private), that will either win the auction or slowly bid the auction up. The id a***s(private) = sneaks83(private). Check the seller's feedback and the bidder's bid history. Also check the seller's current items for sale to see that the same bidder is shill bidding on almost every item. Both the seller and bidder are from WA.

Wow...nasty...how do you detect shill bidders? Technically this is a reportable offense, but how can you know? Some sellers just love to second offer to get a quick payment, but then is that a warning sign?

Because I'm so good I scare even myself!

How do I know?
Didn't I say that a bidder named a***s(private) would bid up the Starscream auction. I wonder what bidder is currently winning the auction? Did you look at the sellers other items for sale, and notice that bidder a***s(private) has bid on almost all his auctions. Did you look at bidder a***s(private) bid history to see that he has bid on 73 items(100%) from this same seller.

Here's another item for sale from the same seller:
AFA 80 MISB 1984 G1 TRANSFORMERS JAZZ w/RUBSIGN RARE! - eBay (item 310127208571 end time Mar-13-09 10:16:45 PDT)

Oh look, it must be a coincidence that a***s(private) is winning both!

Do you need any more proof?

How sad is that? I see that a****s(private) or sneaks83 is bidding, or has bid on nearly every item that person is selling. I reported like 25 of the auctions lol. Hopefully this person gets banned shortly...
