80s transformers cereal box goes for $ 349 on ebay

Found this on google.

Rare Transformers Cereal Box - Page 2 - CerealBits.com

A rare box of transformers cereal from the 80s was sold on ebay for $349.

I found a scan of the cereal box but can't figure out how to put it in on the message board.

I wonder who bought the cereal. No way i could afford it.

Edit---

The giftsets are hard to come by (especially the US ones). I personally almost paid that for the set with box at botcon this year but the guy wouldn't sell it after the first day and the box was in way worse shape than this one. It's not surprising that it went for that considering it had all the paperwork. I'd probably bid on it if I'd had the money

You know what makes this auction funny?

This:
Computron Transformer Gift Set In-Box VERY RARE! - eBay (item 220271191699 end time Aug-26-08 19:13:29 PDT)

Someone is paying over $1200 for a virtually empty Computron Giftset and someone paid only $400 for a virtually complete one not 3 days prior.

As for G1 boxes in general yeah they've shot up for some reason. You can still find decent deals on them, but they're getting rediculous, esp when for nor much more you can get the complete figure with the empty box. You know what they say about a fool and his money.

IMO it went only for 400 usd only cause the seller has 1 feedback only.

@thecypher0: as regards computron box,I'm agree,it is a very rare usa set. I have an italian Gig Computron set(even rare than usa release) with an unapplied sticker sheet in. but NO WAY I'll pay 800 euros for it. NO WAY!! I bought it for 180 euro last year, and I bought its original unapplied giftset stickers sheet(yellow retro) in a separate ebay auction for 50 usd.
800 euros(with 1 day left) for this box is simply INSANE! this is my modest opinion.

now I'd like to know how much is the value of a gig abominus giftset box, flawless and complete w/t paperworks...2000 usd???
this auctions hurt my "collector soul". this is the bad(and the good off course) face of this expansive hobby.

Thanks for the pic link, man! As for the cereal's gimmick...well, it sounds clever at first, but, come on, at least half those sugary cereals "transform" the milk into another color/flavor. That's just what they do! lol

Many thanks to kjeevahh for the sweet sig.!!
