Take a piece of whatever material you wanted to use, cut it to fit over the edges of the existing "mouth hole" then sort of warp it so it's in a sort of half circle shape, then cut it up like a pizza.
I haven't done ANY kitbashing though, so yeah... I'm just saying stuff as it pops into my head  | |
