Classics Trailbreaker WIP

Hey all, here's yet another kitbash for the Classics line that I'm currently working on. I haven't painted anything yet, but the colors will include yellow, red, bule, grey, silver, and black. I do have a couple of questions, as I've come across a couple of snags that have prevented me from painting him yet. 1.) How do you take apart his backback? I can get the tw screws out, but, it won't come apart. and 2.) What specific kind of marker does it take to color clear red plastic to a clear blue color? Thanks to whomever can help me so I can get some more done on this bash. C&C are welcome, and thanks for looking.

No. Clear plastic doesn't dye. I've seen people on here use some kind of marker that would just color right over the plastic. I might have to pm the first person that I saw use it.

i believe just a regular sharpie will work. i think sami used a red sharpie to color classics magnus' windshield to red for nemesis prime.

I haven't taken apart Cybertron Red Alert, but here's what I'm thinkin' on the questions you posted:

-The backpack: It might be glued together inside. Letting the pack soak for a few hours - either in goo gone, or isoprophyl alcohol - might loosen the bonds of the factory-applied glue. After letting it soak, you could try prying it apart with a flat-head screw driver. Obviously, if you're giving what feels like too much pressure, stop! Don't break the part. THere might be another way to get it apart...and what that is, I dunno.

-The windows: You could probably PM Sami to get more info on how to tint them. However, remember that red + blue = purple, in most cases, so you may not end up getting a clear plastic blue like on, say, the Energon combiner parts.

Thanks guys. I'll pm Sami here soon about the windows. I'll have to look up who did the bash that has isnpired me to do this one to see if they can help me with the backback. It'll take me a while though with the search function off for now, lol.

Nope. This mold would make for a nice Skids, but, nope. I didn't list all the different colors in any specific order, so any one of thos colors could be the main coloring that's going to be on him.
