Edit: Never mind. Seems the trick to getting something done is complaining or asking about it... usually works right after that.
I need to find an Xacto knife, but how exactly should I make the first incision?

I need to find an Xacto knife, but how exactly should I make the first incision? | The way I did it was to just start kinda at the corner of the post, and cut down. Don't try to cut through it all in one go, just score it first and then keep cutting along the same line in repeated strokes. Eventually it'll carve through it. Then do the same thing on the other side.
The good thing is that since the plastic pieces are split symmetrically down the middle in that section, once you get the side cuts made the one bottom cut is pretty easy... you just sorta chip away at it. Once the big chunks are out you can carve the knife around the edge of the hole to cut away extra hanging bits.
Just make sure to cut away from yourself, and not over your leg or anything. The plastic can sometimes seize the knife and require some forcing, and you don't want to slip and stab yourself. Repeated scoring is the safest way. |

Guess I'm gonna have to try and cut away more plastic.
Wanted to take pictures of my progress, but they all came out blurry. I don't know how to use the macro function on my camera... it's a Canon Powershot A540, if anyone can help me.

I think part of what I thought was a problem is that the head doesn't actually rotate freely, because of the "collar" pieces. Turning it actually kinda clicks it into place. He still lacks a neck, but he looks a lot better.
Hooray! This is my first Transformer alteration that involves irreversible steps - ie, cutting. Success!
