This thread is for organizing and discussing meeting up in 2014 (please don't bump the old threads).

The following format is merely a guide on how the meet-ups have generally gone in the past. Things don't certainly have to stay the same format, and the group tends to be open to doing different stuff as well.

[INDENT* meal (we've done breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
* Attending a local toy show
* Toy hunt at local Walmart(s) and Target(s)
* Toy hunt at local shops that carry vintage TFs
* Swap meet in parking lot
* Going to a movie[/INDENT]


Feel free to post any ideas, thoughts, whatever you feel like discussing about hanging out in North Carolina!

Hey DumpsterJ, NC Bulkhead and my other Charticon brethren.

Quad suggested that I could post in here regarding an upcoming toy show in Atlanta called the Great Atlanta Toy Convention. It used to be a GIJoe con called Joelanta, but this year they have expanded to include all toys. It will be over the weekend of March 14-15 and I will be manning a dealer table for the first time in my life  

I will not be selling many TFs, if any; my table will be mostly Toybiz Marvel Legends, Mcfarlane Sports Picks, wrestling figs, loose GIJoe, and other odds and ends. However, the TF presence was pretty strong even last year before they made the con more general; one guy had a ton and I got a MIB G1 Thundercracker from him.

wow, we did nothing in 2013!

 

2013 went by so fast.  

As I previously posted, RoboCop is coming up next month. It opens on February 12 which is on a Wednesday. Of course, Valentines day is on Friday the 14th that week. Maybe on Saturday unless you plan to take your significant other to see RoboCop.  

 

Man, it sucks living up here in the mountains. I feel like I'm forever away from you lowlanders.....and it blows cause toy hunting options are very few around here.

 

RoboCop will be out next week. Anybody want to go see it next Saturday?

Very east coast is just awful right now. NOTHING. But I travel to the Triad fairly often, gotta do my shopping there. Hopefully there can be a Meet-Up Soon.

Tomorrow is a no go for me. My dad is in the hospital recovering from back surgery and some unforseen problems. I'm going to be in Greenville with him and hopefully take him home.

 

I hoped to wake-up to rain, washing away the snow that still traps me on my back-roads. Nope.

 

I just went to the new Bass Pro Shop in Cary. I think that we should add it to our hangouts list.  

 

I dunno; it sounds fishy to me.

 

Captain America 2 coming out in a couple of weeks. Anybody down to see it that weekend April 4-6?

 

I want to, but I think that's when I'm in Florida.
