Wow. BotCon's in Pasadena. I'd love to visit Cali again, but funds are pretty scarce, and air fare/hotel would put it way out of my price range. Looks like this meet-up will be my only chance to get together with fellow collectors this year.

 

So then let's make this a great get together. I've talked with Insane Galvatron, it's gonna happen. The question is who else is gonna make it!!!

 

I just PM'ed a few people that I know are here in KY or in good driving distance. We could even open this up to our northern (Ohio/Ind) or Southern (TN) bros to include more people.

 

I could do Lexington, although I won't know if I can make it until a couple of weeks before any particular date. I never know when my schedule will change.(Thank you wife!)

 

I got Weirdwolfs invite and I'm DOWN w/ it. No Botcon for me this year but a chance to see Megamus and xZAOx again would be the next best thing. I live across the river from Louisville and Lexington is only an hour east on I64 so that is no problem.

You guys name the date and I'll show as long as it's a Saturday for sure.

 

Id rather have it in Louisville, but so far Lexington seems the way to go.

Maybe some Louisvillians can group up in Louisville, and go meet up with the Lexington crew.

We could also rent a bus, or put TF flags on our cars funeral style and tailgate it, Someone bring a laptop for Mapquesting on the road

 

Hello All!

I have always been interested in getting together with some fellow KY collectors. I've have had some issues along the way- family, time, work and school. Lately, I have had all the time in the world, but money has been running tight as I work at one of the Ford plants in Louisville. For a while, I was in a much better position to help out with planning something, but I am no longer able to take the active role. However, I am more than interested in a general get together and always have been.

My idea would have been to get a 'back room' at a Ryan's, or something similar, and have as many show up as possible. I figured there would be no more than 20 of us, so the back room would have worked for privacy, mingling, etc.   Put me on the list and give me a date.

I'd be allright with it. Preferably Lexington. I've got a lot, if not pretty much all, of the energon figs i'm looking to get rid of.


and, i'm not completely sure about this but my parents own a loft in south hill station that i might just be able to get them to use as a location. It'd be private and it's right next to UK so easy to find, plus of course the stores nearby such as Cane's Chicken and Mellow Mushroom Pizza (awesome!)

but i doubt it could fit a lot of people.


School ends for spring break on march 30, and summer on may 28, but any time during the weekend if those two time zones are not okay i may or may not be able to go with. But as said before, a saturday is pretty much a must.

I believe I have a family gathering on the 10th (was just told about it at Christmas)

 

I have my daughter every other weekend, I'd like to do this when I don't have her if that will work out with everyone else. Looks like the two weekends I have free in February is the 14th and 28th. Since the first one is Valentines, and the latter is too far away, how does everyone feel about Jan 31? If we can agree on the date, I'll start working on the location.

I can certainly bring merch, but I'm not sure we're looking for that. I can certainly bring special request items though if anyone wants me to deliver their goods to them at the time.

If we ever need a Louisville location, it looks like there's some empty space where the Gymboree or whatever the hell that kid's playground chain was on Shelbyville Rd., on the second floor of the shopping center where Lazer Blaze is. It's right overtop of the Big Lots in there. I can see tables and chairs up there, so it may be rentable for events.

It'd place us right on top of a laser-tag arena, and I can definitely guide people to good food around town (Backyard Burgers is a necessity).

 

So, we're in agreement - the 31st?

I think getting together by noon would be best. That gives people time to drive (like myself), and still plenty of time to do whatever.
