You are limited to 2 items, if time permits you will be able to get a picture with her. With the wristband, I believe you are only allow to get in line once.

Do you think it will be worth getting the Primus package if all I want to do is meet the voice actors? I know Frank is extra but the website doesn't say anything in detail about what the Primus package or Golden ticket package is, or when it will be available for purchase. I'm only seeing the general admission. We're less than 2 months away so when do you think they will put it up?

In terms of meeting Voice actors, you get one chance and you can get a picture taken with her. In terms of the limit, it depends on how long the line is...you might get 2 items or just one. When I met Peter Cullen for the first time back in 2010, I only could get 1 item signed and 10 seconds with him.

In terms if people wanting to meet Frank Welker, you have to get the Primus package or the Golden Ticket.

Primus package includes the box set of toys and attendee figure and a pin along with access to Botcon the entire time.

Golden Ticket allows the attendee an earlier time to get their box set and a golden pin. Also, they get to have a special meet and greet with the voice actors. Plus, they get to sit in the first few rows at the panels. I got the Golden ticket back in 2012.

In order to meet Frank Welker, the minimum cost will be $600-650 depending on the cost of the Primus package.

Also, hopefully they will get their brochure up on the website soon.

Brochure should be up sometime next week, they never put it up until all of the boxset toys are revealed first so it shouldn't be up before Tuesday. Pricing may be a bit more than last year due to the amount of little extras in the box set (targetmasters, microns, etc). I would expect the Primus package to run about $400-$430 this year and the golden ticket package will be a extra $300 in addition to the Primus package cost.

If you're just hoping to meet the voice actors your best and cheapest bet is to go with general admission. Primus packages are mainly for folks who want the boxset and the attendee figure, and you can still essentially meet Frank Welker with general admission, though it'll be with hundreds of other people during his panel. :D

OK question here for repeat Botcon goers, well specifically someone familiar with this area. Well maybe not so much this area....here goes...I am pondering going this year but by myself for the first time. I have been to about 5 or so Botcons..and my experience has been....the "magic" has kinda worn off.

Same people, most of the time the same toys for sale...most at or above ebay prices...so what I am asking really is the "people" experience really worth it? Looking from afar it has always seemed kinda clique-ish there. The TFW guys hang out/ the all sparkers hang out...etc, it never really seems like much of a place to go to meet people really. I went to a couple of people's rooms for parts parties for a few minutes last time, as I was able to get free...still got that clique-ish not really welcome feeling. I am not super stoked about the boxset either, and (possible) pretender oil master has absolutely no appeal to me. Basically the at show exclusives/people experience/the area after 5 PM are kinda my linchpins on going this year. If it was at disney again I would go in a heartbeat, lol!

Also, as far as the venue goes...it sounds like its in the middle of nowhere, or at best I am picturing something like cincy 2007...isolated but in a downtown-ish area? Is there anything to do in that area after 5 that doesn't require a car?

Cullen has only been 1 autograph per person all other guest are 2 per guest unless the volunteers hold them up so they can get their own autographs

Lol you really think they will do something on time come on man , they didn't even put all the figures up before they did the brochure for a Joecon plus they are planning on using the "new" registration system that was never up and running for Joecon, they ran registration through the club store site

Maybe but back in 2010, the volunteers told people that it will only be 1 per person halfway through the autographing session when there people getting two.

As for this year's Botcon, it is about 40 miles from Chicago. I did a bit of research to see if there was anything in the area to do after 5. All I came up was pubs and theater. In terms of during the day, I all I could find of interest was the hotel's golf course and a waterpark in the area. Sadly, a car or a taxi might be needed. But hopefully someone familiar with the area can give a better idea what to do around the area.

Didn't follow Joecon all that much so I don't know how they're exclusives and registration were handled, I'm just going off previous Botcon's to try and make some sort of guess for the brochure release.

Hopefully they've worked out the issues they had with Joecon's registration for Botcon's this year but then again that may be expecting a little too much.

Cullen was at least 2 per person in 2007 before the movie blew up....maybe more than that. I know because I have 2 items signed by him, and I only went through that line once

He was FAMOUS by that time, lol! Back 07 he was still a "nobody", oh man I was there in 10...was it "lottery" or whatever then? Oh edit, I remember...there were long lines with people lining up several hours early which led to the "lottery system" in 12. I remember now saying eff that to waiting....

Thanks...that's making me a little less optimistic, but fits in line with what they usually pick for a venue. Hopefully someone local or familiar with the area will talk more about it.

Oh ok...I was way back in the line in 2010 and had a very short time with him. When they had the lottery system for him in 2012, it did not work every well because they posted the results very close to the signing session.

    Or G1 Skywarp

The high price is due to how expensive it was get Frank to come to Botcon.

If you're doing the Frank Welker thing, I'd suggest Megatron. It's his main voice and you never know when you'll see him again. I'd love to do it myself, but I can't afford 600 just to get a couple signatures.

If I'm able to get the Frank Welker package, I'll have him sign SDCC MP Soundwave, since he voiced him and all 5 of the cassettes. It would have been nice to get Generations Leader Megatron signed as well though!

I looked into the area as well but didn't come up with much, Chicago proper is so far out might as well just stay and play at the resort and hit all the parts parties.
