I'm looking for something to read. For $8 bucks I could get the digital version of Stormbringer. Does it hold up? Any value for someone who never read it or any deepening of the current universe to be found? Any opinions are welcome. Thanks.

Yes, it doesn't have the best story but the colours are amazing :) .

Story by Furman, art by Figueroa.
    Not bad.
It has ties to Infiltration and Spotlights, but those aren't required and it works as a standalone read.

I'd say it's worth it. But it has pretty pictures and would be even better to have it in print.

It's only good for the art really. It does introduce Bludgeon and Thunderwing to the IDW universe, but that is pretty much it.

I liked it, tied into Infiltration and the Spotlights (off memory Soundwave in particular which has ties to Shockwave) without needing to be read first but do wish Thunderwing had a personality because in other ways I liked Furmans take on Pretenders in this series. And I'll repeat the nice art.

I liked it, I thought it was one of the highlights of the Furman IDW era.

It doesn't have much bearing on the current IDW stories but it's a good prequel to the Furman era. I don't think its amazing but it's decent. The art is good, nice Geewun Don-style before the trash in the Costa run.

Good art, but story was pretty boring IMO.

It's a solid read with great art (re-read it a few nights ago in fact). I'm gonna feel sorry for the Robert's stuff when ten years from now people are down-playing it for whatever the new hotness happens to be.

Though re-reading IDW from beginning now makes me want to get the Complete Hardcovers just so I can easily read them all in order. Probably just be cheaper to get them all re-bound a couple vols of omnibus.
