I am not a music buff any stretch means. I never gave the piece much thought to be honest what king of music that a cybertronian would listen to. I wonder what the music score would sound like for the Empyrean suite would be like a dirge funeral music or something like the religious music of organs played by Bach. It is popular a favorite among Tarn, Ultra Magnus. It would be something I could theorize Krok would like he seems to interested classics texts or movies. What do you think
I imagine something like Chopin's Nocturnes: FREDERIC CHOPIN - NOCTURNES complete - YouTube or Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Auferstehung": Mahler -- Symphony No. 2 'Auferstehung' - YouTube
The 1812 Overture....something really inspiring to fight. I can see the factions making music with weapons...
What about this? Anamanaguchi - Aurora (Meet Me in the Stars) - YouTube Still trying to figure out music used by laser sounds...
its Quite ironic that the first time cybertronian music has been brought up ever (as far as I'm aware) is in the medium which can't portray it and ultimately leave it to play on our imagination
I was thinking of something very electro like kraftwerk (Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine (Full Album) - YouTube) or crystal castles (Crystal Castles - Alice Practice - YouTube) for transformers music. If we was to look at making music from a practical point of view I don't think in this continuity they have any functional reason to breathe out air so maybe wind/woodwind/brass instruments might not have been as intuitive to create as they where for us. String and percussion could be legitimate as I imagine even though cybertron and its habitants are metallic I'm sure they could still access a huge variety of different materials both on and off world. Vocals are a no brainer as they communicate by talking and the war wouldn't have completely snuffed it out as emotional expressions like art, music and poetry can survive wars in our civilisation so there is no reason why they couldn't exist in there's. I wonder how their metallic/electronic nature would alter how it is created and consumed to how we have communicated with music throughout history?
Maybe it's a purely vocal type of music(sorry not really sure about the proper musical terms) we've seen that Cyclonus sings a lot and one of them was a hymn. Judging by the name, Empurean Suite could be a hymn as well. Maybe a bit like this
How about some Daft Punk? Tron Legacy - Soundtrack OST - 04 Recognizer - Daft Punk - YouTube I agree that woodwinds might not make sense for a purely mechanical species. I liked the shout-out to 'The Ambus Test' in the latest MTMTE...
An old thread, I know, but with the song being in the most recent issue got me curious if there was any discussion on it. As for myself I imagine it sounding like the two songs I attached to this post, they're not suites, but I find them fitting
