Gah! Wha happened to the rest of RabidYak's initial post? The latter part that broke down everything that was reprinted and where...of particular interest, the UK issues that haven't been reprinted yet.

Ironically, I never caught the dual Megatron plotlines, LOL. I just figured something else happened to him between the UK arcs and the US Return of Megatron. LOL. How obtuse am I?

    Hi.
Of all the Titan books, if you have to chose the best one, wich would it be?
    Thanks.

Really love this guide as I just started collecting the comics as well. What about continuity? Is there a list of a suggested way to read the comics such that continuity lines are maintained where possible?

Any chance of getting this to also reference IDW UK reprints too? Might be too much work, but seems like it might be useful.

Just wanted to say thanks for this great guide!
I'm finishing the US series and going onto UK.
I noticed the UK reprints are all mixed, so this helps a lot with the reading order.

Stories in red (in first post) that are now currently available:

Man of Iron (UK #9-12 / US #33-34)
    The Enemy Within (UK #13-17)
Raiders of the Last Ark (UK #18-21)
    Decepticon Dam-Busters (UK #29-30)
The Wrath of Guardian / Grimlock (UK #31-32)
    Christmas Breaker (UK #41) and
    Crisis of Command (UK #42-44)

are all reprinted in Classics UK Vol. 1 (ISBN 9781600109430). This trade also includes all the stores (strips and text) from the UK 1985 annual.

Classics UK Vol. 2 (ISBN 9781613771419) contains all the UK-only strips from 'The Icarus Theory' (UK #45) through to 'In The National Interest' (UK #77), as well as all the stuff from the 1986 annual (much of which was previously unavailable).

Classics UK Vol. 3 (ISBN 9781613772317) is yet to be published (due July 2012), and is due to contain UK-only stories from #78-104 (all previously reprinted by Titan) PLUS the previously un-reprinted 'Ancient Relics' (the Action Force crossover story).

ALSO REPRINTED SINCE THE INITIAL LIST WAS COMPILED...

The Big Broadcast of 2006 (US #43), in IDW's Classic Transformers Volume 3 (ISBN 9781600103469)

The Transformers: The Movie Marvel adaptation, which was part of IDW's Classic Transformers Volume 6 (ISBN 9781600106729)

The GI Joe Issues that segue into Generation 2 (GIJ #138-142) have recently seen print in IDW's Classic GI Joe Volume 14 (ISBN 9781613771532).

    THAT LEAVES...

The remainder of the UK Annual stories from 1987 onwards (presumably these will be covered in future volumes of the Classics UK series, although there's been no official word of any further volumes past number 3).

Ghosts (USG2 #2): Presumably IDW now hold the rights to this and will probably see future release down the line.

War Without End / Warzone (UKG2 #1-2): The rights to these comics are presumably still held by Fleetway, and may never be reprinted, as Fleetway no longer have the licence to print Transformers-related comics. Your only hope is to get some illicit scans (not recommended), search for the issues on ebay (no copies are currently listed), or wait for the rights issues to be resolved (maybe IDW can buy the publishing rights from Fleetway?).

The 4-issue set, GI Joe v The Transformers: These are going to be reprinted in September 2012 as part of the trade paperback 'GI Joe / Transformers Volume One' (ISBN 9781613773529). This will also include the Generation 2 issues previously published in Classic GI Joe Volume 14 as mentioned above.

SO NOW, AS OF APRIL 2012, WHAT's THE BEST WAY TO COLLECT THESE ISSUES?

Well, all the old Titan trades can still be purchased, but as seen by all the red text on the original post, these are incomplete.

IDW's Classic Transformers 6-volume set of US omnibuses are available, but due to rights issues are missing issues 3, 9, 22, 23 and 45.

IDW are currently in the process of releasing the US issues again (this time with no issues missing); the first 3 volumes are already out (up to and including US #38).

IDW are currently in the process of releasing all the old UK stuff (including the annual stories), up to volume 3 (of a projected 8) currently.

    Hope that helps!

After sampling a couple of the Titan U.S. series soft cover books, I was crazy about the gloss paper. These look really good. I ended up buying the whole U.S. series hardcovers in mint shape off ebay. I just wish these had the corrected coloring like they are doing now in the new IDW reprints. I guess I will just keep buying the IDW ones too. :drunk

This is a brilliant list, thank you. I think I've got pretty much all Marvel's G1 stuff, but in a really hotch-potch mix of Titan US reprints, Titan UK reprints, IDW UK Collections and those lovely, colourful but incomplete IDW collections of the Marvel US stuff. I've been wanting to try and read them in the sequence I so fondly remember from my childhood, and now I can. Marvellous. Thanks.

Regeneration One? It takes place in the US continuity after #80 (End of the Road) and follows its own path.

Oh thank Primus. I got a bunch of the reprints 2nd hand and haven't cracked them out of sheer confusion around what was what.

Wish I had found this thread a while ago!
