Comes out tomorrow/in the next few hours, so we might as well start up another one of these.

I'm anticipating this issue with a prevalent sense of dread.

Watch the first casualty of Overlord's rampage be Swerve's mouth.

My LCS is open and has this in.

So tempted to run off from work and grab it, as opposed to my usual wait for it to turn up on Comixology later today.

I have been dying to talk about this issue since Sunday. As such, this is going to wander a bit.
So I will start by saying; THIS is the work of a top notch writer who has confidence in his narrative and shows the importance of real character development. More than anything it's just great writing. The entire issue is two characters; however it never gets dull. The conversation clips along divulging secrets, revealing histories, and as natural as can be.

Chromedome is a personal favorite of mine due to his character in this book, so to have him front and center doing what it is he does especially is fantastic. To have Overlord circumvent and turn the tables as he does, reestablishes how truly dangerous this Decepticon is. The work he and Nick Roche did in developing Overlord in "Last Stand" was so good it remains even after his prolonged absence, as such the dread is palpable.

Art wise. I'm not a fan Milne's art style. However, his ability as an artist to convey personality, emotion, and energy has never been in question and has never been more on point than in this issue. A lot of the action takes place in a white featureless are similar to the Matrix, however Milne keeps it fresh and exciting in every panel.
Roberts and Milne work extremely well together and though I am not partial to the art style, I do hope they remain a team for a good long while.

I have to mention this one panel. To me it is the best example of an artist at his best working with a writer as his best. There is a panel near the middle of the book that is just a close up of Overlord's face. It's when he finds out Megatron is still alive. The entire personality and tone of Overlord changes immediately in that panel. It's nothing overbearing or a sudden shift. It's subtle, nothing more but it works so well with the words to impress on the reader that something has changed here. If only Chromedome had been paying attention.

I love James Barber's work on "RID" and to have him as editor of this book allows both to have a real cohesive feel, even though they are in two entirely different places right now.

There was talk about Prowl's "corrupted memory" in RID's newest issue, I wonder what people will think about the story behind it in this issue.

Overall, Barber is writing a wonderful tale over in RID (and can't wait for the Dyno-beat down that is to come) but Roberts is hard to beat as top Transformers writer right now.

A great issue with a great team, Death is coming. And it shall be... Glorious.

Doesnt yet seem to appear in the app if you search for it though

    Read it.

One of my favorite issues thus far. We get a lot of backstory and learn answers to a bunch of stuff.

Overlord is SUCH a glorious bastard. Can we PLEASE get a Generations toy of this motherfucker?

    Amazing.

Quick points to note "Tarn" is a Phase Sixer, and judging by the quotes around his name its reinforced that either 1 - The DJD has code names or 2 - Tarn is the mole.

It also explains why Prowls memories were damaged.

The DJD have codenames, we already knew that. They have the five fixed names that handed down from departed members to new ones. I'd say this "Heretech" just emerged as the new front-runner for Tarn's true identity.

Did we "know" it in Universe though, or was it implied in an interview? I don't remember reading it in an issue, just on here. Either way its now 100% confirmed and we now know he's a P6

Well, I suppose nobody out and out SAID it in dialogue, but the fact they took their names from the first five cities the Decepticons conquered made it obvious from the outset those weren't their REAL names.

It wouldn't have seemed (to me at least) beyond the realms of possibility that they were created following the 4.2 million years since the decepticons took those cities and were named as tribute to those cities.

Although Im still a little fuzzy on how many (if any really) bots were "created" since Novas Population Augmentation program.

That'd be why this was "news" to me then, as it hadn't been in the title yet

He and Sixshot should either be small voyagers or big deluxes to fit in with Skyshadow.
