I'm pretty sure 1984forever only permits himself to view that sunbow cartoon on VHS, cause, you know, nostalgia.

Also, I'm convinced he wears Velcro sneakers and sweatpants, cause

it's only 99 cents. Get IDW to raise the price to $5 weekly and I'll stop bitching... Because I won't be buying it!

Yup! Prada sneakers with Velcro straps and sweatpants when I'm in the strip club for "extra comfort".

Sunbow G1 should only be viewed on the Shout! DVDS. A lot of nonsense has been corrected in-between releases... unlike Autrocracy and Monstrocity. The same muddy artwork and the same loose storytelling.

ok now that was funny! bravo!

i think the artist is getting better. i remember in chaos we all bitched that the frames didn't flow right, making the story disjointed and confusing. and half the time we didn't even know what the hell we were looking at

    Ugh.

The cover alone was a turnoff personally. It was like G1 Megatron and Prime Soundwave had a child.

The story itself wasn't very good either IMHO. I know it's implied prior, but I really dislike the idea of Dai Atlas actually seeing the rise of Optimus Prime. It makes them seem a lot more recent than the implication is in MTME, where most of the crew isn't sure if the KoC even existed. Also, prior, OP describes bonding with the Matrix as painful, yet in his conversation with Alpha Trion, he doesn't bring that up, which seems a bit weird.

If I never hear a repeated (and double if it's forced, and triple if it's "One shall stand...") line/parallel from the movie I'll be a happy fan. This and Autocracy both commit this crime and TBH, I'm not sure which one is the worst as this one seemed to be so forced as to be laughable. It's not clever, it's not even interesting. I also got a weird flashback to DW where Wrek-Gar sees Megatron fall, ends up in service to him and rebuilding him and making an army for him. I'd hope that it wouldn't happen, but I'm half expecting it.

Finally, The Dynobots needing to get off Cybertron is plain tiring. If the reason is supposed to be shocking or even mildly interesting, they should've spilled the beans now so we can understand it and want them to succeed instead of trying to create mystery, because honestly, it's not even the least bit working for me. I don't know if it's Dinobot Exposure Fatigue or if honestly I just don't really care about this (or to be completely honest at this point, any) incarnation of the Dinobots at all.

You're confusing the Knights of Cybertron with the Circle of Light.

The Knights of Cybertron are the semi-mythical group, who had a fleet of Metrotitans and date back to not long after the time of Primus and the Guiding Hand. They lived in the original Crystal City on Cybertron (seen in the RID Annual) and eventually left the planet for parts unknown. These are the ones the Lost Light is ultimately looking for.

The Circle of Light, led by Dai Atlas, is a comparatively modern group, formed around the start of the war, who follow the teachings of the Knights of Cybertron. They eventually left Cybertron in response to the war, and established a new Crystal City on Theophany (with the Annual Metrotitian underneath, powering it), where Drift later met them. The Lost Light went to Theophany to seek the Circle's help, as they have an extensive knowledge of the Knights of Cybertron, but they had all been kidnapped.

Ah, right. Guess I am. It's been a while and all those mystical organizations start to gel together.

I'm getting too many Dreamwave flashbacks from this one, as good as it was to see Wreck Gar in this continuity.

I'm thinking that Wreck-Gar (and possibly Bulkhead) don't survive this miniseries due to them not appearing in the modern IDW timeline at all

Eh, it was alright; $0.99 is about a good price for something like this. Ramondelli's art didn't bug me as much as it usually does, so that's a bonus. Way too many TFTM86 movie references but the story was OK otherwise. And is this Scorponok's first chronological appearance in the IDW universe? Because I don't remember him being in Autocracy or anything set earlier...yet he's suddenly come out of nowhere to be leader of the Decepticons? The inclusion of Bulkhead is interesting, although he doesn't really do anything this issue, so I can't draw any conclusions whether he's a good addition to the cast or not.

Yeah, this is the earliest we've seen Scorponok. I agree that him suddenly being able to oust control of the Decepticons comes across weird, although I hold out hope that might get elaborated on in further issues...

Thanks for pointing out the typo.

Now how about you learn how to respect other people's opinion and we'll both be even...

Cybertronians were walking on earth millenia's before the first human so who's to stay humans weren't taking their lead????

I guess because they're Dynobots, not Dynocons.

Now this I have to agree with, I mean he's a scout standing next to a Prime during an Inaugural Meeting as if he's he's Ultra Magnus or Ironhide. Hell back then even Hound and CliffJumper had a higher rank than him. And other than getting PWNED by Ravage in issue #3 of Autocracy, Orion Pax didn't even know he was alive...

Sadly him standing next to Optimus in that panel was IDW selling digital copies and nothing more. Thank Mbay for that...

    Hmm... interesting.

I didn't know that. Just Googled it and I realize he favors the China exclusive Springer figure allot.

And since FOC voyager Springer comes out later this year. Maybe I'll call the China exclusive one Bulkhead since I'd never buy that TF Prime or Animated one this lifetime..

Is it just me or do the Dynobots Autobot badges really stand out? Like reeeeeeeeeally? It's almost as if someone came along just before the comic was about to go out and quickly slapped them on.

You're right. It's pretty understandable somebody who paints his comics the way Livio does would copy/paste Autobot badges in there (saves a lot of time!), but checking them again they look awful.

Not even on the Dynobots - check out the panels with Bee and Prime! :-/
