No... I'd only follow such thing if it was made by the same crew that made the G1 cartoon, so I could laugh at the same old mistakes.

i like the universe idw has set up. they have plenty of room to go back and fill us in on the millions of years the decepticons and autobots have been at it under optimus and megatron...

 

I'd say make it a bunch of miniseries or just arcs in the book. The show and movie gap is 20 years so there is no way to cover all of that. Cover the main points people always bring up. Cons conquer Cyberton, Autobots take over moons, S3 guys showing up, etc.

 

Shane McCarthy is the right man for this book. I would want it to be in the same vein as the cartoon, but with a harder edge like TFTM and season 3. I would bet money that IDW does this title after Regeneration One is finished. How could they pass it up?

Regeneration one is aimed at the Marvel G1 crowd, so why not make one aimed at the fans of the cartoon? The MP line does it, so why can't IDW do it?

 

Because the MLP line is aimed at fans of a cartoon that's still currently being produced.

He said "MP line"...........meaning the Master Peace line of g1 toys, and no that cartoon is not currently in production.

Because I misread "MP" as "MLP," and IDW is currently publishing an MLP comic.   However, his using the Masterpiece line as evidence that IDW should do a cartoon G1 comic isn't much better. Toys and comics are two entirely different beasts. IDW is already publishing several comics set in two G1 continuities, and they don't need to tackle a third G1 continuity with all of the other Transformers stuff they could do instead. Publishing a Transformers comic for every single group in the fandom would be far from a smart idea, especially in this comic market.
