Spoiler It looks like the deluxe Insecticons might be prototypes to Bombshell and his crew. I don't think it's that much of a stretch that the Cons modelled them after creatures they saw on other planets.
'm assuming the artist didn't care enough to redesign their alternate modes to be more Cybertronian. I'd have just lifted their Cybertronian designs from Dreamwave's The War Within if I were that lazy.
Oh the artist is lazy to the fucking max that's for sure. Just look at Bludgeon's tank mode. That's not a cybertronian tank that's HFTD Bludgeon mold!
It's pretty much all just so that they can show Metroplex who then goes "I MUST GO MY PEOPLE NEED ME!"* on their ass and dissapears. If anything they're just hyping up Metroplex and the titans for some big revelation that is probably gonna come. *not the exact quote
Thundercracker references his brief appearance in Spotlight Orion Pax. Next issue is Megatron and then Bumblebee. Don't know who is after that if it continues. I assume that the four issues we do know about tell one story even though they are not directly related to each other. Bumblebee appears in this one so I expect it to be referenced in his Spotlight.
I have to admit as bad as International Incident was Thundercracker was one of the most interesting characters in those issues. I wish we would see him in RID.
thanks, i walked into my comic shop thinking i was buying rage of dinobots AND spotlight thundercracker today, was somewhat confused (and not sure if the different spotlights would be showing up in my subscription properly since technically they have different titles, but apparently they are all listed under Transformer : Spotlight ) shaping up like they are fleshing out the 4 million years ago events with the spotlights for a bit - how many issues do they squeeze into a TPB now? 6 wonder if we will get 2 more spotlights tying into this sequence of orion pax, thundercracker, megatron, and bumblebee (assuming they ARE all set around the same time period)
hope he shows up in MTME rather than the boring RID... this guys is no less than cyclonus in terms of a majestic character.
I would love for this to happen but it looks more likely that he'll end up in RID. Maybe he'll end up discussing earth culture with Jazz at Maccadam's
I can't wait to read a thundercracker sl. For some reason- I thought this was scheduled for roche to both write and draw. Guess I was wrong. Anyone know if he's got a sl in the tube? Also I was curious if the sl series was limited or ongoing. There's a lot of characters that deserve and need a sl. I'm still curious about mirage from his previous appearances. Does he wish he had joined the decepticons? And I'd love a new jazz sl focusing on his cool side and sense of humor. But thundercracker was the best thing from Costa's run yet - I too- wish it took place in the present... if just to get a glimpse of how much earth has changed since the ahm arc.
Loo.. that's even better. Megatron is my favorite out of the idw revamp. Roche demands more input to this awesome universe.
Ok, so.... Spoiler Waspinator is now a retro-G1 Insecticon??? Awesome!!! (Goes to add him to Insecticon shelf)
I enjoyed this issue, but I feel like it was a wasted opportunity. It feels like the author wanted to tease some future development involving the Metrotitans, which is fine, but it didn't feel like a Thundercracker spotlight. Despite Costa's many faults, I thought his portrayal of Thundercracker was fascinating, probably my favorite portrayal of this character. Several issues in Costa's run worked better as a Thundercracker spotlight than did this actual spotlight. I hate to play backseat writer and say I didn't like the book because it wasn't how I would do it, but I think many of us would have preferred seeing what Thundercracker is up to today, as he's noticeably absent from MTMTE and RiD. It wasn't a bad or boring comic book, but it wasn't that much better than an episode of the G1 cartoon. I just wish it actually shone a spotlight on Thundercracker's character and/or showed us how he has moved forward since the events of the Costa books, not backwards. I was highly confused by this too. It looks like Bludgeon was a triple changer, but it was really weird. The tank mode looks exactly like HFTD Bludgeon, which is kind of weird since Bludgeon has been seen turning into a different type of tank in the IDW continuity with that body. The weirder part was his jet mode, considering his robot mode is relatively kibble-free and doesn't look like it has any jet parts.
