I am reading the new outgoing and I am confused, as what happened since when the Autobots and Decepticons aren't fighting? Am I missing something?

Essentially the Decepticon were all captured and chipped after Costa's run, which saw Cybertron regenerated to a primordial state with all the varying transformers that had stayed neutral or deserted during the war returning.

 

Is it possible to read the old ongoing online? like for free?

 

Legally? no.

 

Pay for it like everybody else.

 

Or better yet: Don't. The old ongoing is infamous for being awful.

 

Previous ongoing wasn't too enjoyable to read. Bullet Points as follows:

• Decepticons booted off Earth after events of All Hail Megatron.
• Ironhide killed by humans.
• Optimus steps down as leader.
• Bumblebee voted leader of the Autobots.
• Hot Rod ventures into deep space to recover Matrix from Decepticons.

• Alpha Trion revives Ironhide on Cybertron.
• Ironhide clears Cybertron of Insecticon Swarm.
• Hot Rod bonds with Matrix.
• Hot Rod travels to Cybertron, picking up Wheelie along the way.
• Galvatron prepares an army on Cybertron.
• Hot Rod & Wheelie pick up Ironhide and a repaired Sunstreaker. Return to Earth
• Megatron arrives on Earth. Prepares attack on Autobots through Humans.

Autobots and Decepticons not at war. Stupidest idea ever.

 

Seems to be working well for them so far. I'm liking it anyways.

 

Hey, thanks man! I kinda crapped out on the old ongoing at about issue #6, so I had no idea what happened between then and RID #1.

Wait.....Megatron and Galvatron are/were two different bots?

 

Correction - best idea ever, seeing as how it's been 100% great so far.

Yes thankfully. And not only that, Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge pre-date Megatron and Optimus by several thousand years. They left Cybertron before the Decepticons ever became a faction.

 

Best thing that happened to IDW Transformers since Furman left. Also, finally something original.

I'm a newb when it comes to TF comics canon, so I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
