So Classics verse is dead? (Invasion plotline)

So any an entire universe has gone boom? Meaning that Cybertron from that verse and what I assume Optimus and all the others from that timeline are dead?

The "Classics"-verse was supposedly an update-slash-continuation of the original G1 continuity. That never really worked for me anyway, but whatever.

With IDW bringing back (one of) the "real" G1 continuity in Regeneration One, Hasbro and FunPub decided it was time to get rid of the imitation, in case someone got confused (not that I think anyone would have been). At least, that's the explanation I heard. It won't affect the toys, but it will affect the FunPub fiction, which is fine by me.

Let's face it, the FunPub stuff is basically fanfic. If it wasn't, Hasbro would have forced the other media to make reference to it by now.

I don't subscribe to any of the Classics fiction. I merely regard Classics as updated versions of G1 characters, with the associated storyline remaining the original G1 storyline. Think a G1 remake with more modern designs, if that makes any sense.
