To be fair almost all the Autobots have done is give him the cold shoulder or stink eye. Except for Whirl who's a psycho who tried to kill him. Not the best impression I imagine.

-ZacWilliam, can't really blame the guy...

well he was essentially a con, but i get what ya mean lol

Surprised people havent really mentioned that
Brainstorm WASN'T devoured by the Spark-Eater.
Probably had something to do with the
    briefcase.

He wasn't a Con at all though. Ever. He and everyone he worked with were always ancient Transformers that long predated the concept of Decepticon. I'm not sure why the Autobots think he was. I guess after millions of years they assume any robot fighting Autobots has to be a Deception but it's still entirely baseless in this continuity. (We are used to thinking of them as Cons, but in the IDW universe... there's no connection.)

    As for Brainstorm,
I think it was more that Rung was the "Brightest Spark" as mentioned earlier in the issue.

-ZacWilliam, why eat tuna when a delicious Lobster feast is trying to run away down the hallway.

One of the things I love most about this series is how I can read a single issue and not feel like I haven't gotten my money's worth. I'm usually a trade girl because the single issues rarely satisfy me.

MTMTE, however, always does. Three issues in and with all three, once I finished I was satisfied. The individual issues are so strong that they're satisfiying reads.

One of the best things about this issue was Rodimus for me. As someone else already mentioned, the writer just gets the character, and I have a lot of love for Rodimus/Hot Rod and feel he's too neglected/underappreciated in TF fiction. This was awesome.

Neat little last line of the issue.

I love this series. I just can't do anything but praise it.

    I agree SS!

So much happened! There was resolution and a happy ending of sorts. Skids and Swerve did their thing. The art was easy to follow. It was a collection of perfect character moments rapped in an actual, easy to follow, plot.

    yay!

A note: I think we now have more interesting revelations about a group of NAILs in this book (They were keeping a Sparkeater locked in their engine room and feeding it turbofoxes) than we've gotten in RiD so far.

It'd be amazing if that book actually deals with whatever group of morons/psychopaths/cultists whatever used to own this ship. That'd be some nice interconnectivity.

I feel like they'd likely be the type to cause trouble.

-ZacWilliam, for that matter I think Prowl and BB should be investigating them anyway, since the ship did blow up and all...

Soooo, another great issue! Some thoughts on this one:

-TURBOFOXES. Finally! I wish one had survived...the Lost Light crew needs one one as a pet/mascot.

-I really liked Shock's sadness about Ore's death. One thing I dislike about a lot of TF fiction is that the characters brush off the death of their comrades too easily. It's nice to see one of them mourning a friend (brother?), showing that TFs do have some gentler emotions and aren't just angry war machines.

-So Prowl's plan was to attach a tracer on the engine. How...innocent. I guess that lays to rest the discussion about whether or not he's brutal enough to blow up his fellow Autobots. He wasn't even planning to disable the engine, just make it so he could keep tabs on the ship.

-I like Chromedome's trinity symbol that he does with his hands. Nice visual touch.

-"Rossum's Trinity"...is that an easter egg or reference of some sort? It doesn't seem to be an anagram. Does that word ring a bell for anyone?

-I think we need Spotlight: Blip. I wonder if he was ever one of Rung's patients?

-"Knowing Ultra Magnus, that's probably punishable by death and then MORE death." :lol

-"I'm too SMART to die!" :lol  So many short but good character moments in this issue.

It's odd that they didn't seem to know his name in that one scene in RID, though. Especially since the little vid screen had PROWL written right there in gigantic letters...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. There's friendship, there's CLOSE friendship, and there there's Chromedome and Rewind. Their interactions in this issue practically screamed "couple".

Yeah, I noticed that too. It seems like Cyclonus was *trying* to give an even-handed review of the war, but he still makes the Decepticons sound better than the Autobots, or at least not as bad as they truly were. I wonder if his sugarcoated history had any influence on Tailgate's choice?

I wonder if he's even aware that the ship is full of Autobots? If Cyclonus' brief summary of the war was his only info, he wouldn't even recognize the Autobot symbol on everyone. Cyclonus didn't tell him how long the war had been over...Tailgate may think it's been thousands of years and tempers have cooled, instead of the wounds still being fresh.

Either MTMTE or RID should definitely touch upon the group who sold them this ship, since it's obvious at this point that it was deliberately intended as a trap. A faulty engine is one thing, but you don't just forget to tell the new owners that there's a deadly, zombiefied monster locked in one of the rooms. Was it just some random NAIL pissed off at the Autobots, or did Metalhawk have something to do with it?

A million times YES! Roberts (and Roche) understand Hot Rod better than just about anyone. He's arrogant and reckless, but has the perfect amount of courage and charm to balance it out. I'm so glad he's getting a chance to shine.

Got this issue today and loved it. I love both series, but this one is my favorite of the two. Swerve was great once again and Skids continues to impress me. I actually want to buy a reissue Skids now. And, of course, it's nice to see Smokescreen mingling amongst the crowd. I hope he gets a chance to come to the forefront at some point.

There is Sunstreaker, so there would be Bob, too. I personally prefer Insecticon rather than fox. :D

Rossum's Universal Robots (R.U.R.) is the Russian play that invented the word "Robot."

    -ZacWilliam, definately an easter egg.

So, has there been any speculation on what sparkeaters actually are (besides terrifying)? It sort of looked like a skeletal Cybertronian to me. ...Some kind of Quintesson experiment, maybe?

Been wondering this too! Buggin' me all afternoon. Your idea makes the most sense I believe.

Just a fantastic home run issue. My beef now is I need toys.

I never, EVER, gave two craps about wanting a Generations Skids figure. Now here I am. Waiting...

Along with Chromedome and Swerve (Hopefully from Igear)

Only if there is a pistol molded into his hand! :lol

Let's wait and see. Last Stand of the Wreckers was four measly issues, but if that's not the reason we got Commander Guzzle I'll eat a Kreon.

The amount of substance in this series is very refreshing. I generally view modern comics as vapid trash too focused on art. It's delightful to sit and actually *read* each panel.

Ooooohhhhhhhhh! Looks like I'll be waiting another week to get hold of this, called the shop I normally go to and it's not in there yet, on the plus side when I do go in I'm finally getting my hands on RID #1 & 2 as well, but still, a whole week! What am I to do (other than everything else I'd normally do, haha)?!
