Nope. I totally think this is what will happen. Going forward it would be cool to have blast off and Ironhide start to team up. Maybe add to the list of noble decepticons

 

I'm worried that this one arc will feature the Combaticons once in this series and we'll move on. I hope they'll stick around after this arc, Decepticons have been shafted too long and I don't care about Windbalde/Starscream. Let's juts turn this book into Ironhide and his security team, that would be lots of fun in my opinion.

 

Even better, give us a Combaticon centered miniseries. It'd be nice to have a comic series that just focused on some Decepticons.

Agreed. I'm so happy the Combaticons aren't being treated like cardboard cut out villains. They've got real reasons to be angry.

Yes! Blast Off keeps talking about sticking with Onslaught "this last time". He's obviously feeling doubt but has committed to this "last plan". Thing is, I think once Bruticus is formed there will be no going back on it. I think the other (conscious) Combaticons will be happy to join as combiners most likely, but Blast Off may be the one saying- hey wait a minute, I didn't sign up for THIS... but since he is loyal to Onslaught and he JUST swore he'd commit to this one last plan- he'll feel he has no choice but to agree. I think that could lead to really interesting consequences later on.

Lol, I'd enjoy more Blast Off and Ironhide. I did love that Scott made reference to the fact that BO is a sniper by having Ironhide impressed by his shooting.

Same!!! I've been unsure if the Combaticons will drop off the radar once #4 is done. I don't think they're in #5 and the other Revolution issues, are they? Looking at the November solicit I can't tell if they will still be around but man, I hope so. I would absolutely LOVE more focus on them and I'd instantly buy any Combaticon miniseries! They're my favorite part of TAAO (though as a lifelong Combaticon fan I may be biased).

 

On the other hand I hope they don't forget that this whole episode started because of Blast Off's little indiscretion to begin with so he shouldn't get off scot free on either side.

I've said it before that the issue limits and event-tie ins have constrained Scott. And she works best with the right artist.


I also wonder if all the downtime between Windblade2 and this helped her plan.

Finally got this, pleasently surprised here.

There's some solid characterization for most of the cast and Scott even addressed Chromia's actions (mind you, she kinda fails to address the fact that Windblade ignored that Chromia killed a bunch of people but let's see where it goes).

Great art from Pitre-Durocher, she keeps getting better and better.

 

Great issue, Onslaught is superb as are Blast Off and Vortex. Chromia and Windblade where great too. This mini is a better Combiner Wars fiction than the Combiner Wars webcartoon: you got excellent characterisation for the members, a good plot, tension and a great build up to the combination.
The only nitpick i could have is that Onslaught seems to have played his hand a little to soon or he should still have something up his sleeve in case Starscream foils his plan.
