I like the concept but I'd rather that knock offs not be used instead of Hasbro/Takara's own toys.

I like the concept but I'd rather that the best figure available be used instead of garbage bricks from 1986.

Oh wait, you did that, and I really like them! I want to see more and I love that you're using the UK series. (Which makes sense as you're from Belfast). Good work!

So Galvatron and Blaster never had a second toy after their original release in 1986? It doesn't matter that if later toys don't look accurate enough to the cartoon appearances or original toys.

    Thanks! :)

Always going to be the UK covers for me, that's the comic i looked forward to every Saturday morning for years :)  What Furman and the art team did, building on the Budiansky US run is nothing short of phenomenal, and laid the ground work for many themes and characters that make G1 what it is now. Never mind what he added to the lore with his portrayal of primus and unicron. Awesome stuff :D

Thanks dude :)  There'll be many more!

    Thanks :)

I understand that many folks don't like the 3rd party stuff but don't worry, the majority of the covers will have official stuff as that's why we all enjoy this wonderful hobby :)

These look really good Can't imagine how long it must have taken you to get the figures and lighting all set up.

These are brilliant Kgorman.... And don't listen to naysayers, use the best representation available you can! I personally would LOVE a recreation of the Galvatron/Megatron back to back front cover!!

Nice work man, and please just do your thing. If anyone has a "problem" with it I think it's fair to say they can go do their own thing their way.

Agreed - these are stunning. Use the best figure for the pics, because no-one sane could give a flying f*** about whether the figures are Hasbro, Takara or third party.

And the insistence that third party are KOs by a certain minority is ridiculous. Get a life.

Kevin, that is beautiful work, you should be congratulated and your creativity celebrated instead of the opposite.

    Great work!

    All the best

What on earth has that got to do with it? Honestly, someone posts about some great creative work they've been doing and the first thing that happens is someone chimes in with some completely mindless gripe based on some bizarre personal bias.

Great work, kgorman, keep it up man!

Thanks dude! Took a while but it was fun :)  It's great getting these figures down off the shelf and actually using them for something that isn't just a shelf ornament.

Cheers! That one is on the way soon ;)

Cheers! And it's the first appearance of "i know how to win the war" Prowl with his Ultimate Autobots. This most definitely was a strong influence on his IDW direction.

    Cheers dude!

Thanks! And there's even a Marvel figure in there with Death's Head on the first cover!

Thanks! High praise coming from you :)

    Cheers man!

    Thanks sir!

Hey man, I hope you don't mind (well, it's too late now) but I was messing with Photoshop to try and get a more 'comicky feel' out of your covers. It's quick and nasty, and (a bit) overboard, but you get the idea.

I basically tried to get ink outlines and then tried to halftone it. Halftoning was only as successful as the size of the image, I presume the bigger the pic the more successful the halftone process?

    Anyway, thoughts?

Sweet as fuck man! Nostalgia feels initialised. When Kev gets a camera, you will know that Kev has got a camera.
