Brandon M. Easton - Transformers Wiki

His previous work includes a free comic book day Armada comic and an episode of Rescue Bots. Thats all he's done previously with Transformers.

But he's a long time TF fan!

    Who never forgave Rodimus, apparently...

Megascream's design was pretty badass. That's basically the only good the only good thing I can say about this comic. It was way too short, for starters. It felt really compressed with so much happening in just 22 pages. I think I finished reading the whole thing in five minutes, and it just overall felt like nothing really happened. But what really, really made me dislike this comic was, as previously stated by others, its "fuck Hot Rod" undertones. Everyone treated Hot Rod like a goddamn five year old who can't do anything right. Magnus and Springer were both massive dicks in their short roles in the story and both deserved to die pointless deaths.

And what happened to Jazz and Cliffjumper? Did they just die horrible deaths within Unicron's stomach or something? Did Easton even remember they were in the movie? Did Easton even do any fucking research?

I can officially say that I am in a party of one with this. This issue was almost universally hated by everyone.

I agree that Megascream was a bit of a bad name, but the design was so funny and crazy that it worked within the context of the story. Also, this comic still isn't as bad as some issues during the halfway point of Marvel.

If Prime being saved on a floppy disc doesn't bother you then none of the stuff that went on in this issue should bother you. Was it clunky? Yes, but it wasn't as bad as some are making it.

I can also agree that the Hot Rod bashing was a bit... much in this issue. Magnus doing it would be fine, but Kup doing it as well? I can see why people dislike that.

With all that written... I can still enjoy the comic for what it was, and at worst, it was a one and done. Easily overlooked if you weren't a fan.

Can I just say whoever came up with the name Megascream deserves a middle finger from me for two reasons.
    1) That is possibly the most unimaginative name I''ve ever heard for a "Galvatron-esque" upgrade.
    2) Now if I ever try to look up that name I get MegatronxStarscream yaoi.

I could be upset about how Hot Rod got shafted because apparently people have a vendetta against him because Hasbro wanted to advertise new toys but to be honest it's a waste of time. It's like when Sonic "fans" cry out that a character needs to die because they don't like them. I mean I despise TFA Blackarachnia but I never go that far.

But why they bash Rodder as if he committed a major crime when the only "crime" he could be considered guilty of, death of Optimus... did not happend in this bok?
    Haha.
Seriously, it reads like a fanfic.

I think the lot of you are missing the point of that. The writer made Roddy seem like he was not up to snuff. What the end shows is that he was the only one that could save the day. Roddy ended up redeeming himself for the deaths he caused on the ship.

The comic wasn't perfect, but it wasn't quite as dreadful as it's being made out to be.

Oh, and Magnus chastised Roddy because Roddy said he had a dream that Prime was dead. From an outside perspective it does sound treasonous.

Photo of combined Megascream. I don't care what anyone says. That is fucking cool looking.

They pretty much treated him like he was mentally challenged once he showed in this book.
Characters either were using quotes directly lifted from the movie script or acted completely not like themselves.
Seriously, I think that the writer had a trauma since he watched TFTM as a kid.
The book is kinda hilariously bad.

But the real disadvantage of the digital edition is... Can't make origamis out of it. :<

Lol... You weren't joking. It really works.

Let's see here. Galvatronus-esque torso with new Starscream head (or maybe keep the original with the crown). Dirge and Thrust(?) retooled from Air Raid. Astrotrain retooled from Skydive. And Soundwave retooled from First Aid or Rook.

    Not sure about Astrotrain.

Okay. I've listed the mold reuses. Where's my new combiner Hasbro?

    I disagree.

That last bit made my spit water out of my mouth. lmao!

I guess I should mention that I might have a bias when good art is involved; I really dig the art of this issue, it just speaks to me.

Am I the only one who would enjoy owning a "MegaScreamus" combiner? Please tell me I'm not. T.T

    Be kinda cool.

    That would be interesting.

I vaguely remember a fanfic where Swoop ended up being the "chosen one"

I suppose. But Magnus in the movie was hardly that much of a dickhead, and rodimus was hardly that incompetent. It's too much, man.

Y'know what? I'm calling the Starscream combiner Sky Reign. It fits so well. Sky Lynx can be Lynx King.

    You and me both!

Sure the ending was rushed but what do you expect when you squeeze an hour and a half into 1 book....

Anyway it's safe to say that I wouldn't mind a Voyager class Megascream figure.

How long before 3rd party is on it?

My biggest complaint was that this felt rushed. I realize the necessity, what with it being a 24 page one-shot, but I feel like this deserved a four-issue mini-series to fully flesh everything out.

That looks rad. Makes me wish both Hasbro and Takara will make a gift set out of this since this is too good not to make.
