Hallelujah! Best Wednesday so far! downloading the issue right now! So excited :D

    Great set up issue.
I just love the fact that the pretender suit that KUP received during his rehabilitation is in play here. To me it shows how far/in advance the writers have thought this through. Not such a huge fan of Springer coming back to life instantly but i think there is something more at play here.

The fact that Prowl wanted Springer to come get him and KUP believing he can wake him up from his Coma makes me feel that this was a medically induced one which Prowl ended up administering. On the flipside, KUP, Arcee,Springer back together? damn all we need now is Rodimus/Perceptor and Ultra Magnus and we can have the entire crew of the Transformers movie back together!

Verity's motives are quite clear, she wants revenge on Prowl but she clearly lacks depth of what leaking this information might do and i have a feeling that someone is also trying to control her as well.

The silhouette of Prowl's abductor originally seemed to me like it was Grimlock but i think it may well be Scorponok since he disappeared a while ago and no one has heard of him since! Or possibly any other transformer with very large shoulders but mind games were always of one Scorponok's specialties.

Oh well, looking forward to issues 2-5 :D

I'm wondering that, considering the namedrop of Noisemaze, could Prowl's captor be an IDW universe version of Sideways? Arcee suggests that someone is manipulating Verity and Verity doesn't deny it. That's pretty well Sideways' calling card.

Good start of this series. My only real complaint would be how
Springer totally pulls an AHM Optimus by dramatically waking up from his coma off-panel.
Definitely interested in how it will continue!

    Now there's a possibility for a Springer-Murdercee hookup. :D

    He's an IDW Wrecker, she's a psycho - a perfect match!

Really enjoyed this, though Springer's sudden revival I hope receives a little more background in future issues.

Did Guzzle full on buff himself out?, 'cause he's taller than Impactor!

Really liked this. It was a content packed beginning and full of nice developments for a lot of the plot-points that Roche created during his IDW work.

My favorite part was how heartbroken Arcee was when Prowl chose Springer over her. :D

    Man, the art is AWESOME.

Unlike with OP in AHM who is badly damaged and gets up with no real explanation of how, when, who or what the hell, Springer here has just been asleep for 5 years. He's effectively woken up from a coma, with a fully functional body. It's still miraculous, but not unbelievable.

I've been preparing myself to be disappointed by the first issue considering what a legacy this series has to live up to.

So glad to be wrong. Loved it! Stakeout dropkicking a bear is priceless.

Yeah - that bit threw me for a second.
I guess he started juicing after being dismantled by Overlord. It would help explain his short(er) fuse :)
A lot of kit-bashers will be back to the drawing board after that final panel.

I'm going to guess its some kind of powered suit similar to Sentinel Prime's Apex Gear or something.

Wasn't there something in his bio about his first round of upgrades making him unbelievably fuel inefficient (hence the name Guzzle)? Bulking himself up more would only add to his problems.

I stupidly read MTMTE before SOTW so I didn't really take much of it in. Gonna re-read it later today but I'm really happy to see Verity again, even if the silly dear is doing some pretty stupid things.

Stakeout seems like a cool character! Looking forward to seeing more of him.

And I'm not that bothered about Springer waking up. His condition was similar to Rung's after his headwound, perfectly intact body but his mind needed to close the zero point in his spark. That's why Roadbuster was reading to him, to trigger an emotional response and bridge the gap. Whatever Kup said obviously did the trick.

God damn was this a good issue. That final splash page, while slightly hokey, was damn fun. This is what Transformers comics should be like. Can't wait for the next issue!

Wouldn't surprise me if Springer's coma was arranged by Prowl in the first instance, one of many mysteries I hope we'll learn more of during the series.

Love the art and the setup, aching to see the next issue now!

Don't make me think Prowl's got inhibitor chips in all of the Wreckers.. No more weird brain bullets.
but Verity's sickness has me thinking she's also under some kind of influence of Prowl's machinations and it's not just from being on the run and in the cold.
    ooor...
Long wrong winded throwback to another of Nick's deleted parts of LSOW from the ending where she's with Jimmy Pink and it's the early phases of Morning Sickness

What really concerns me is this:

Nick, you are a devious bastard.

No, it was arranged by Overlord when he ripped off Springer's face. This isn't a mystery at all.

This is what a comic should be, jam packed full of so much content that it feels like 2 issues in one and leaving you satisfied but still happily wanting more. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story, it's nice to see Verity again, even if age has made her more angry to the Autobots than the Verity I remember, and it was interesting to see Roadbuster have a change in personality especially after learning what he did to Krok's friend in MTMTE 46.

I forget what Prowl did to make Verity so upset so I will reread Last Stand of the Wreckers, but is it just me, or is Prowl in a similar type of place that Kup was trapped in in his spotlight issue? Wherever it is what lead Rattrap to putting him there? And this obviously takes place before Blackrock and the Decepticons attack the Ark right?

Oh this is fun keeping track on continuity! (No sarcasm) :D

Certainly not Springer, Kup or Arcee.

Who's there without a toy? Stakeout? Hubcap? Guzzle?

    Poor redshirts...
