If the Autobots somehow/for some reason had an equivalent of the DJD, a team to track down traitors, deserters, and similar, and take them down, who would it consist of?

What lineup would you have for an AJD?

The Diplomatic Corps A.K.A. Autobot Special Operations is more or less the Autobots answer to the DJD.
Off the top of my head Skids, Getaway, Jazz and Punch would certainly be in there.

It's not like Getaway is well suited to taking bots down, he escapes from trouble. Punch, his spy gimmick is similarly not the best for the task- barring fueling the AJD with info on who to hunt down.

Now Skids I can see- good fighter, and creative.

Jazz certainly is a top choice for the team- he's a bot I wouldn't want to mess with if I were an Autobot traitor.

Well, you have to look at it from the viewpoint of the Autobots. They're not out to kill traitors/deserters/criminals, they'd be more for capturing them. So I think Punch would work great for a job like that. With his disguise skills, he'd be able to buddy up with the target, get them in a position prime for capture by the other members.

Still, the job of a -JD is normally the retrieval, not detection, and there's still a separate intelligence service. A spy team won't be able to pull in heavy targets too well.

Also, consider that defectors are often gonna be Decepticons. Fighting them or fighting to get to them is generally going to be required. So... yea.

Who would you have as a team that filled more-or-less the DJD's role, only more Autoboty?

A team of DJD-like Autobots would be viewed as a step backwards even if they weren't anywhere near as sadistic as their Decepticon counterparts, it's the kind of thing the Senate would have done, "Don't step out of line or the AJD will get you!".
The DJD exist to publicly demonstrate what happens when you fuck up and they don't care who sees them doing it, an AJD would be more about stealth, incapacitation and extraction without resorting to open conflict. They don't need to go into battle when they can nudge-gun their target into letting their guard down from a distance.
They'd be going after bases of operations and such more than active warzones, otherwise it might as well just be a job for the Wreckers.
Basically, an AJD wouldn't want to be seen doing what they do.

Still, even in the real world things like desertion are considered a major crime in the military, the Autobots probably wouldn't overlook that or any other war crimes.

But, the Autobots being not evil or insane would rely on an actual justice system, which is what Aequitas and the trials were all about. They would punish bots by sending them to jail, not relying on a fringe group of radicals going through a checklist and brutally killing everyone on it.

If anything, it's their answer to the Decepticon Secret Service. They're closer to them than the DJD.

But anyway, given that the DJD's whole modus operandi comes from Roberts looking at the name and deciding what "Decepticon justice" would actually be, I'm not sure that an Autobot Justice Divison would just go after deserters--or, at least, that such a group devoted to catching them would be called that.

Ultra Magnus played a role of enforcing rules and policing and he wasn't limited to tracking down Decepticons as he captured Autobot rogues too like Whirl, Arcee and Grimlock.

The Aqueticas trials where kind of like a focus on Autobot wrong doing and accountability overseen by such wholesome moral guardians such prowl and Chief Justice Tyrest.

Ultra Magnus worked alone so a team of AJD could be interesting.

The Dynobots would be the closest. Look at what they did to the Decepticons back at the beginning of Maximum Dinobots.

Wouldn't an AJD basically be whoever was running Aequitas trials and/or the ethics committee?

So Xaaron, Fort Max, whoever else was stationed on Garrus-9.

I read IDW Dynobots as a nihilistic undisciplined bunch of violent rule breakers and some of the least likely Autobots in the entire army to be upholding any kind of rules, laws or morals. The only similarity I can see between the Dynobots and the DJD or potential AJD is them being super powered sub teams.

Just had an interesting idea of my own of what an AJD could be like. How about them be a bunch of wronged NAILS who somehow got access to the results of the aqueticas trials and now are out for justice for autobots wrong doing. Some hostility and resentment towards the autobots would make sense as it could they could accuse there being some serious double standards with the Decepticons receiving very public punishment like Megatrons trial, the lethal Id chips and them being hearded into what was essentially Decepticon ghettos whilst autobots even some of their most nasty (like say whirl) walk around like nothing happened.

    Oh, Fort Max, yes.

Xaaron's not a field work type, though.

Hm, Fortress Maximus for the heavy, Jazz, Skids... need two more....

For a good version at least.

For a not-so-good version, Impactor, Sandstorm, Whirl, Slug, and Grotesque.

I see the Dynobots as the polar opposites. While the DJD are the highest paragons of the Decepticon code and follow the rules to the latter, the Dynobots are outsiders to the Autobot code that constantly and openly flaunt the rules.

They'd probably need someone to track down miscreants, and we know Nightbeat was involved with the Aequitas trials (as he appeared in LSOTW), soooo... how about him?
