I been thinking and I think rodimus,cyclonus,whirl,rung are going to have to make a life altering choice to find and stop brainstorm or go back to the lost light and help megatron and others fight off the DJD.

What's everyone else think?

 

I think we'll be getting a lot of fun out of Megs, they didn't make him an Autobot for shits and giggles. He's going to clearly draw a line in the sand and then we will see him get some sincere Autobot respect.

 

I am going with this as well. I mean Megatron becoming an Autobot sincere or not is best move character development. It is first time I seen Megatron as fully developed character.

 

That's pretty much what I'm sure will happen.

 

Edit: Just re-read the OP post. I either misread it initially or just wasn't paying attention to what has been said. In which case, yeah, I imagine something like that is going to happen. Though I can't say I'm big on how all of this is linking together.

 

Megatron is likely going to confront the DJD, and he will do/say the right things while he doesn't know the Autobots are listening/watching.. He will then be quickly overcome (Weaker body, no fusion cannon, not on the right energon). Then the crew of the Lost Light will rush in guns a blazin'..

 

Or maybe we can get back to a proper ass kicking multi million year civil war and over the stupid robots banging robots and Decepticon feel the love crap we've been getting instead...............

Nah, no more civil war please. We've been beating that storyline to death for over 30 years. I'm quite content with the current IDW direction.

 

Well this franchise has plenty of other fiction that can easily accommodate your specific needs. The movies feel about three hours long each and they have only the odd talking bit or storyline (I know generous use of the term storyline) to interrupt the endless set pieces they can cherry pick into the trailers, so boot up your old DVDs if you want to rediscover them. The wfc/foc games have plenty of repetitive action so if you want that endless civil war feel, get your enjoyment there. Transformers prime may have hads it's ups and downs but it had some pretty great fights over its two and a half seasons, it could be argued that it enjoyed some of best this franchise has enjoyed ever.

The main problem with them bringing the endless war back would be that the comic format often struggles to convey dramatic action being still pictures compared to the more fluid movies, video games and cartoons. As this new drift mini is proving action comics can end up feeling a little too light on content or dialogue with them being easily skim read in five minutes compared to the 40/50minutes of reading an issue of mtmte can sometimes provide. While the comics struggle to convey large action sections they can triumph in meaningful character development and world building backstory that a movie or even cartoon season would struggle to portray. Despite the limitations with the format Idw has given us some good battles like in last stand of the wreckers, the DJD/scavengers battle and some great battles with the legislatures in the remain in light arc it's just it feels like this current post war status quo is playing to the comic formats strengths alluding to battles using a less is more approach.

what i want in MTMTE is that megatron slaughters DJD one by one so he can end what he has started million years ago

 

That would be both badass and a total letdown at the same time.

I second this as well. Kinda seals their trust in him.

I imagine that when its revealed that Tarn is Roller (if it is the case) Roller/Tarn suffers a psychotic break. Everyone is shocked to know who he is. Imagine when Optimus finds out and when Roller tells him of his abandonment and Optimus doesn't remember because of the memory wipe. How's that for interesting.

 

I kinda like to mix things up so I say let the DJD kill megatron. Megatron will die a emotional death and get to speak his final words to the lost light why they all feel sad then if tarn is roller him and optimus will have some major confrontation and he will kill optimus as well then there will be 2 new leaders of Autobot and DECEPTICON

Autobot-Megatron has not been milked nearly enough for him to die yet.

 

Autobot Megatron has to last the remainder of this run, until a real reboot which I hope is years off. Make no mistake, this was a big move and it wasn't met with as much criticism as I thought it would be, hell I like it more than I thought I would.

 

Autobot Megatron has proven to be one of the best things to happen in transformers comics.

 

This is going to be the defining moment for Autobot Megatron. He definitely won't die, because it's too early. He definitely has the rest of the "season" of MTMTE at the very least. And if I had to guess, seeing how MTMTE went 2 years until Dark Cybertron, (which is considered "season 1") then we have at least another year left of "season 2".

This will be the moment, however, that I believe it will be solidified that he is serious about his choice, and that everyone will respect him now.
