I'm eager to see where this goes. I'm not entirely sure what everyone is up to though in this issue. Blackrock is definitely a villain here. Soundwave, I am loving this version of him. Griffith was a bit off at times in this issue, a few wonky scale issues. I'm not entirely sure what makes Galvatron think that Spike knows where the Enigma is. Overall good issue, and I await what comes next. And why was Arcee mad at Sideswipe?
He's made a lot of dumb comments towards her. (see #18 and #30) Anyone else hoping we get Soundwave's thoughts on Thundercracker's script later on?
^ The Autobots might hate him but they all do what he says anyway. Even that goddamn cockamamie Overlord plot.
Arcee is not easy to kill Their membership is still pretty cutthroat, Soundwave just wraps it up in ideology. Galvatron is just willing to go along with it, but he's pretty nasty. Astrotrain, Needlenose, Blitzwing.... I think Soundwave and *some* of the cassettes are the only ones who buy the line. To paraphrase, Arcee: "It was pretty good what we had going, back fighting Megatron, right?" Sideswipe: "Nah, no-one could trust each other then! ... Er, no offense?" Plus when Bee was getting repair and Arcee wanted to see him, Sideswipe kept her out with everyone else. Apologetically, but still. He likes fighting next to her, and thinks of her as a friend, and outside that context can pretty consistently be an unthinking ass.
Soundwave is not going to be happy when he finds out about the EDC's army. I wonder what he'll do? We've got two issues to find out...
Arcee considers Sideswipe as her friend because both of them like to shoot and fight deception but In issue 18 he calls her a heartless killer despite her being nice to him at that time,And in issue 30 he doesnt trust her because he still thinks she has other despite the fact that she was auto branded at that time. Same ol Sideswipe
Eh? There's nothing indicating he can only find out within the next two issues, he might not learn of them until after Combiner Wars.
On the army, and the matter of when Galvatron's past come up they make a big deal of specifying *ancient* headmasters... anyone else think the new army is going to be a Headmaster force?
Yes, but I mean, I think it's being done to hint that EDC has picked up Scorponok's tech, only with jets instead of Sunstreakers.
This is by far the best issue of Not-RID. It hit me in all of the right places. Loved all of the interactions, Arcee was great here, same with Soundwave, Thundercracker and of course the prick himself Prowl. Spoiler Prowl's forgiving Spike.....WHAT THE FUCK? I was screaming that when I read that. Now this is a damn great cliffhanger....why would he forgive him of all people?
That is true, they pretty make everyone their enemies by being total pricks. Maybe he's realized that Spike is the friend he's always needed.
Spoiler So, Prowl forgives Spike. Ok, No issues there. He has his reasons. However, his forgiveness in words late in the book is in opposition to the words and possibly actions earlier in the issue. This is significant. My guess is there is a proximity range in which the constructicons are having influence over him. When he gets loose/distance from their influence is when he can become himself. Knowing this, Prowl has probably factored it into his high stakes equation thinking. When he's going to cut the cord with the constructicons I don't know, but it should be fun to watch regardless.
