Well that sucks.
I had just assumed they were ending that volume and that maybe after the TMNT crossover there would be a volume 3, considering Ghostbusters Volume 1 only lasted 16 issues, versus Volume 2's 20.

 

Well, I guess I'll throw in my non-MTMTE recommendations.

I'll second what people have said about Invincible, Saga and Ms Marvel. Each of them is great in their own way, Invincible is the best "cape book" out there, Saga is one of the most imaginative universes ever created, and Ms Marvel is just plain fun.

I would also highly recommend:
Fables - Basically think Disney meets HBO
Runaways - The Brian K. Vaughn run is brilliant
Y: The Last Man - Another BKV masterpieace, and it's finished.
Walking Dead - Can't go wrong with Robert Kirkman, he's my second favorite writer behind James Roberts.

For me, TPB's are the best way to go in catching up with a series. No need to find a jumping on point, start from the beginning.
