New glass curio display cabinets for my Classics and Masterpiece collections: The guest bedroom where I moved my old curio cabinets now housing my Movieverse and Prime/Beast Hunter collections: Still a work in progress but it's coming along!
Thanks, much appreciated! My main three identical cabinets (housing my Classics and Masterpiece figures) are Curio Cabinet by Pulaski (had a 10% discount code and bought them on a sales day for even more savings). The big cabinet with the sliding glass door (and a layer of brush material between the door jamb to keep out dust) is Keepsakes Curio Cabinet by Pulaski The two smaller cabinets flanking the big one are Keepsakes Frame Curio Cabinet by Pulaski.
wowzers! yeah, i think i'ma stick with my detolfs and billy bookcase. that's my TF budget for a few months but, damn, they do look so nice... maybe when i win the lottery
Yeah, they did cost a pretty penny but I think it's worth it to reclaim some living and storage space around the place. Plus they match the rest of my bought furniture. And if I ever retire from the collecting game (yeah, right ) and want to sell off some figures wholesale, the shelves are still keepers and can hold boring stuff like china plates or whatever it is old people collect. Thanks again! (I want to win the lottery too so I'm with you there, lol.)
Some of my latest acquisitions! Combiner Wars Defensor (with Perfect Effect hands/feet and a rifle borrowed from Titan Metroplex and Legends Groove crucified on Rook ) and Menasor (with Bold Forms Lonewolf subbing in for Motormaster, Perfect Effect hands/feet, Dr. Wu sword, and rifle from Perfect Effect Samurai Bludgeon upgrade kit): Really loving how this guy looks all upgraded! Lonewolf is a bit fiddly and some of his tolerances could be a tad better, but when all combined up with his teammates, he's pretty damn impressive! This is how Generations Menasor should look! Also got one of the last (if not THE last) DacaToys Kronos from BBTS. I have zero QC issues with my figure (I even found an extra finger piece in the box ). I have to say that while his build quality admittedly isn't the best (with questionable choices in both materials and design engineering), he's pretty damn impressive in person and definitely has a nice shelf presence. Even the missus had to admit that Kronos looks exactly like cartoon Jetfire/Skyfire.
Some new acquisitions! A little custom painted Human Alliance Barricade and Robot Replicas Frenzy love. "Freeze or I'll be forced to mace you, fleshling!" (I don't think it's pepper spray he's talking about. ) "Hey, baby, why don't you get with me, Frenzy? I can get all the premium radio and cable channels for free, no sweat!" You do not steal HBO and expect to get away with it. Frenzy learns this lesson the hard way.
Thanks, much appreciated! It's been a long time building up since I started up collecting again back in 2009. I think I went a little overboard. More pictures! Human Alliance Barricade vs. the Big Green Angry Machine (S.H.Figuarts Hulk). Who will win?! Barricade needs to hit the gym some more! (Or get some doses of delicious gamma radiation.) Revoltech DOTM Optimus Prime vs. custom Robot Replicas ROTF Megatron with various Tamashii stage parts. Moar Bay explosions! Moar Bay special FX!
My latest acquisition! It's an over-sized KO HFTD Leader Starscream (closer to Supreme class now) with his movie 1 paint deco (customized by xaviercal; more photos of this amazing figure here: Supreme Class Movie Starscream): Includes a real metal buzzsaw (with really sharp edges!) attachment, ball jointed wrists (no gorilla arms here), and articulated fingers. I didn't particularly care for the fins on the missile cluster hand attachment that came with Hugescream so I removed them and kitbashed my own. I think they look a bit more streamlined. I also added some metallic blue to the cheeks to give him a bit of color to his face, as well as some booster jet rocket pods on his back (can't be seen in the photos). To get a better sense of his ginormous size, here he is next Human Alliance Barricade (also customized by xaverical) and Robot Replicas Frenzy (another custom job but by an unknown). Love how Starscream and Barricade scale next to each other! Comparison with MPM-01 Movie Masterpiece Starscream.
More acquisitions: Down and Out (custom painted Takara Arms Micron Voyager Breakdown and Robots In Disguise Deluxe Knockout, both by Cheetimus Primal): I think these two look great together! One of my favorite Transformers Prime molds. Not exactly one of my favorite Transformers Prime molds but the paint definitely helps!
Latest acquisitions: Square Enix Play Arks Kai Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Quiet and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Raiden and Solidus Snake. Great figures, one and all. Also have PAK MGS V: TPP Venom Snake (Sneaking Suit) on my way to me. PAK Robocop (1987 version) My Robocop shelf. I really like 80's Robocop. Mostly NECA figures (and a lone Figma Robocop). Snuck a Terminator in there since I liked the Frank Miller Robocop vs. Terminator comic mini-series run (also Transformers 2014 Subscription Barricade because I like his police car mode and there aren't any available representations of Detroit OCP police cruisers in toy form that I'm aware of; OK, there is the old AMT model kit).
That KO Movie Starscream you've got is gigantic next to Barricade and Frenzy. Again, your movie collection is just ace.
Yeah, he's a beast. To quote Donald Trump, "He's yooge!" My wife came back home from her trip to Brazil and saw Supreme class Starscream posed next to my monitor on the computer desk and was really impressed by his size and shelf presence. She was equally impressed by how much I paid for him, considering how big he is. Thanks for the kind words! Speaking of movie collection, I still need to crack open APS Ultimate Optimus Prime and the UFO trailer this weekend. I'll be sure to take some snaps of both!
New acquisitions: Takara Arms Micron AM-28 Leo Prime (with gold painted Leo Sword by Venksta). Takara Transformers Adventure TAV-11 Bloody Knockout. Kaiyodo Revoltech Boba Fett, R2D2, and C3PO (plus bonus Imperial messenger drone). Not exactly new but I like this pose/shot of Kaiyodo Revoltech Metal Gear Solid Revengeance Raiden (black version).
Some latest acquisitions: S.H.Figuarts Star Wars ROTJ Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader on Bandai's Death Star throne room stage. Kaiyodo Revoltech 6" Star Wars X-Wing. Shot from the bottom. KFC EAVI Metal Transistor and FansToys FT-09 Tesla. KFC EAVI Metal Transistor, DX9 D06 Carry, and FansToys FT-09 Tesla. KFC EAVI Metal Transistor, DX9 D06 Carry, FansToys FT-09 Tesla, and MP-22 Ultra Magnus.
Latest acquisition: custom scratch-built Leader Class DOTM Shockwave by Forgotten Forest. Also "bought" (well, it was free since I had some built-up credit at an online furniture store) Abraham Lincoln Memorial bonded marble resin figurine/statue by Design Toscano. Why this thing? Because of this. That and the awesome scene from Dark of the Moon where Megatron shoots Honest Abe with his hobo shotgun and sits on the remains like a throne. Standing at 9.5 inches, it's the perfect size to seat a Leader Class figure. I just feel guilty for wanting to smash Mr. Lincoln to pieces though. Maybe I'll just pose Megatron blasting Honest Abe with his hobo shotgun instead using a Tamashii Nation explosion effect part.
Square Enix Play Arts Kai The Predator (First Movie Jungle Hunter): Roaring. Predator performing Shakespeare. "Alas, poor Yorick, I slew him well!" Figma Ghost In The Shell Major Motoko Kusanagi and Transformers The Movie Deluxe Arcee: Hot piece and hot ride. Got you in her sights.
Transformers Adventure Phantomjaw (Police Steeljaw) with some slight kitbashing to make him a little cooler looking: Hasbro Generations Legends Viper: Really like the color scheme. Destro unleashing his latest weapon -- Viper drones. Powerglide (with the gatling guns that come with Legends sized 3P Blaster, Ramhorn, and Steeljaw: IF-EX03 Sonictech, Bassrhino, and Leotrible) and Viper. Weaponized MP-03 Takara version of Walmart Starscream (with TFC-006A Phantom of Screamer Accessory Set upgrade parts): Still got a soft spot for this figure since it (along with MPM-01 Starscream) are what got me back into collecting big time. I updated Cloud Hot Rodimus a little with the gold chrome wings from FansProject TFX-05 Sidearm (along with the pipes on the forearms/shins): Shiny! I think the gold chrome works better with the Springer mold and Cloud colors rather than the standard FP Protector matte orange wings. Shot of the back. With Classics Hot Rod and FansProject Protector armor.
Latest acquisition in-hand: custom scratch-built Leader Class DOTM Shockwave by Forgotten Forest! My god, what a great representation of the character! Just love how imposing he looks! Wonderful sculpting and detail all around! Getting late and I have to get up early for work tomorrow so that's it's for now!
