My collection has grown slightly over the last couple of days with the inclusion of MP11S Sunstorm and a Hasbro 20th anniversary battle damaged Prime. I also bought one of the sound/display bases seperately as I didn't know one came with the 20th Ann. edition >doh!<, but I'm glad I did as the one in package was a little beat up. Initially I wasn't keen on Sunstorm when I opened him up and still in his tray, but after taking him out and fiddling with him for a few hours I was left well impressed. The colour scheme is cool in the flesh, although the legs may be a little 'too' yellow, but it is in jet mode the deco shines for me. I keep getting the urge to transform him too and fro, something I've not had since MP08. His coronation gear has gone straight onto MP11 Starscream as was always my plan, as I thought the colouring looked more 'regal' although the one that came with him was screen accurate. As for the display base and 20th Prime, I'd always fancied one of those stands for MP04S Sleep Convoy to make him stand out a little more and make him a bit more statuesque. 20th Prime I'd always side eyed from as far as something I'd like to get for the deco to round out my MP01 mold collection but didn't feel the prices online were worth the 'enjoyment' I'd get from him. I managed to find one boxed and complete on the bay in very good condition (apart from the aforementioned bonus display base!) for what I thought was a bargain so decided to pull the trigger. Am now waiting on the long smoke stacks to be delivered. He looks just too weird with th short ones! Next up (fingers crossed) Hasbro Thundercracker! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...ollection.html |

With the addition of the battle damaged version, that takes my Prime collection upto 5 (6 if you include Magnus, 7 if you include MP10 ).I think the only ones I'm missing now are the 25th anniversary edition and the golden MP01 Lucky Draw the latter of which I don't hold a hope in hell of ever being able to get but have eyed the KO's on a certain site and while I admire it, I think it may just look a bit out of place. As for 25th edition, I'd prob do the same as 20th and pick one up if I saw one for a price I deemed do-able but he's not as lusted after as the likes of MP12/13/14. MP04S is a really nice rendition of the mold and is another example of photos not doing the colour scheme justice. The reds and blues while still there have the colour sucked out of them and look very impressive. You'll love him http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...ollection.html | |

I've noticed a bit of talk on here lately from other collectors about this, so thought I'd chuck up some pics! The style and finish of the boxes add to the feeling of it being a "collectable" rather than a "toy" for me, especially in comparison to the Hasbro boxes. Some of the colouring and artwork on these is fantastic, especially the comic themed MP08X. There is a custom box in there I bought when I got MP03 Whitscream to keep the same aesthetic going, and id love something similar for the rest of my Hasbro bots but alas only SS was deemed doable by the maker. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...ollection.html |
