Slowly working on turning that pile of mess on my floor into a display =P

Started with BW then will work my way through BM, A/E/C, Animated, CHUG/3P Combiners. Also have Masterpiece Diaclone, Movie Figures, Titaniums, etc!

I guess I shouldn't complain but I feel like I have to prune the collections so it doesn't look like a pile of mess from the floor moved into a pile of mess on a shelf :lol

Killer setup. I'm hunting for new display ideas and the way you have vintage and modern together is exactly what I was thinking of doing too. :thumb

Finally had some time this week to prune the misc collections for their single shelf displays...

I'm open to suggestions of figures to switch in or out... the shelves seem just slightly more cluttered than I'd prefer, but I also only have so much space and I don't want to store everything :)

The blank spots are for movie figures, titaniums and CHUG.

    Nice additions!

My only advice to clear the clutter would be on the BW shelves -- get rid of the non-show characters, and choose either TM or OpOp for S2/S3 and either TM or Dragon Megatron for S2/S3. Maybe alternate between them on a regular basis?

Funny you should suggest that because after staring at this the last few days, I decided "less is more" and yanked a bunch of figures.

I haven't pulled out the CHUGs yet, and the Titaniums were just to see if I want to display them or not...but overall, I support my decision even if a bunch of guys had to go in a bin again :(

    Looks awesome!

K, what about putting the TM Op and Megs directly in front of their S3 selves? Makes it look a bit like an evolution?

Everyone should pay attention because THIS is how you display your collection. I honestly don't know what I love more, your collection or how you put it all together in this magnificent setup. You have like my level OCD display habits, where everything is visible on the shelf and no over crowding. This really is just perfect. Congrats to you!

Do you have plans for lighting your shelves? Built-in or otherwise?

I appreciate the kudos! I spend way too much time carefully plotting where things go. I try for balance on shelf heights throughout and maintaining some symmetry of theme too. And then all of a sudden FT comes out with a giant ass Omega Supreme and I have to rethink everything :lol

At the end of the day, I wanted my collection to appear "impressive" even to non collectors, and I felt the glass shelving and being careful not to cluttter really makes all the difference.

The flip side, though, is that it takes a lot of space and I still have many later line figures now in permanent storage containers :(

My main goal was to have the old school G1s with Japanese/Euro exclusives and my MP figures on display. After much debate I decided to display them together, leaving space for MP figures I expect, and not for others like Deluxe Insecticons or COUGH Omega COUGH.

In the end, I LOVE displaying them together and think it helps my partner and friends that see it "get" why I'm collecting the ones I do still.

The eventual plan is to install some form of puck lighting on the underside of each of the "white" shelves. 2 each for the wide shelves, and 1 each for the narrow ones, that way it can hopefully shine down through the glass too.

Kinda like this guy's collection, but I have the extenders so one more row of lights at the top:

This collection, by the way, is one of my HUGE inspirations. If I was only going to display G1, this is how I would do it.

I might steal the wood floors too, to match our downstairs...but that will all happen when I take everything out for the lights and actual mounting of the shelves to the wall.

Nice. Your set up is a huge inspiration for me. Honestly, my plan is to go the same route with the Billy's with glass shelves as well. It's so clean looking. My collection room doesn't have ceilings as high as yours though but I think I'm going with the extensions anyway. Looks like you're getting about 2 rows of figures comfortably on each shelf. Even with the FT Dinobots which is impressive. They're pretty massive.

Seeing that other collection with the puck lights looks good. That was definitely an option I was thinking about. I don't think I want hard wired lights, nor will I need them on all the time. Mostly just to show off I'd think.

Yeah, I specifically had the builder install an extra switch that will eventually control all the puck lights with one flip...

I purchased the clear acrylic risers in bulk on eBay and got some sturdier ones for the Dino's
