I wouldn't say it was unnecessary, I actually admire that in your collection :thumb

Tell you what IS great - the glass doors for Billy bookcases. They keep the dust off great, and of course you can still see through. I've got them for my collection, highly recommend them.

On-topic - what an awesome collection dude. Hope mine is that great some day!!

Thanks for the advice on the glass doors, those will save me a bunch of headaches! And nice collection too, you've got quite a few of the harder pieces to track down, now it's just filling in the gaps :thumb

When I first saw it, I just want to say I hate you and xxxx U.
    hahaha....
I have to say I love it.
I am 20% off from completing my collection but I think it could cost me $10 000 just to do that.

The Japanese line is waiting for you to complete it. =P

I think Transformers@theMoon brothers must be one of the few that have a complete G1 collection.

I think you should ask a handyman to create glass doors for you?
It will save you a lot of time from cleaning them and reducing the chance of yellowing as well.
Alternatively, you can ask him to build a new display cabinet for you with glass doors, even better with glass panels!!!

    Gracias, amigo!

That's good to consider too... I think I've just been holding off with what I have since I'm still in an apartment. In the next 2 years, I plan to own my own home and at that point I may reconsider the shelving situation so I can get my BW, BM, RID, AEC, etc etc etc up as well all in one spare bedroom.

And as far as the G1 Japanese set, I'm pecking at it slowly, but I've taken to not being bothered with only owning knockoffs of pieces like the Headmasters and Dinocassettes just due to the cost of everything. I've found real versions of most of them and particularly of my favorites (Liokaiser, Victory Saber, Overlord, etc...)

Yes, it is good to hold off at the moment if you are thinking of moving out in the next 2 years.

I never like knockoff and I do not get any pleasure in owning them, even if to use them just as part. You are lucky to get Liokaiser. I tried to get a friend to sell me his loose Liokaiser or trade any amount of Zoids of his choice for it but he refused. He is more of a Zoids fan and that frustrated me.

One thing I do not like about Liokiaser is that the breast beasts does not have marking on them and it is very easy to replace them with KO Taiwanese version which is exactly the same except for the sticker. One have to be very careful when buying loose breast beast.

I have the same Ikea shelfs (the small ones) set up in my office! And they display my transformers as well!
I recommend buying the glass doors for each unit- cuts down on the dusting.

Waitaminute...no decoys, no minispies? This is so not a complete collection. FAIL.

Lol, j/k. What you have done is very impressive sir. A complete US set is hard enough, but with all the Japanese and Euro exclusives you have managed to do what many cannot. Your display is also very unique and visually appealing. I have only seen one other person who was able to fit an entire US G1 collection into one picture, very nice job.

So now that you are pretty much finished with G1, what are your future collecting goals?

Wow, this collection is beautiful! The way you have them displayed is great.
I especially like your seeker jet display (but where is Sunstorm?).

This is the collection that I hope mine becomes someday.

    :lol

Definitely putting glass on them after my next move :thumb

Haha, I actually feel guilty about not having the minispies... I'll consider buying them in a bulk lot but hunting them down just seems tedious lol. Although, I did break down and grab a Bumblejumper :shrug

And yes, I always spent a lot of time in how I organize the guys out. I'm limited a little bit because of which shelves are fixed versus movable otherwise the Autobot and Decepticon Actionmaster, Micromaster and Pretender shelves would all line up evenly :p

For now, I'm slowly piecing together the rest of the Euro (Just a few Actionmasters left I think) and Japanese stuff and I'm still an avid collector of the Classics / CHUG line. I would ideally like to have every 84-85 Character updated at some point in the line, 3rd party included for display.

My dream room will have the G1 and Classics on opposing walls, Alternators and Masterpieces on a high shelf along a middle wall and a set of the main cast members from each BW, BM, RiD, AEC, etc series below them. Big TV and couch facing the other wall :D

Thanks! All those eHobby pieces are tempting, but then my completest bug would probably take over :lol  I've only ever been a true completest with the G1 line and all the modern stuff I pick and choose what I like...

    Thanks!
