Transformers Collection Display Advice!

The great thing is,I didn't even have to buy them.We had all these worthless Beanie Babies in these plastic display boxes,and I figured crap on them.So I unloaded all of them and threw 'em in a big box.I must've ended up with about 30 of these boxes.

Congrats. Was going to do the same, and finally said screw it and bought some stands at the container store. Just ordered a ton of acrylic stands from Amazon.com. Not sure if that's the best place, but they seamed to be reasonably priced.

Personally, I display the larger ones on a custom shelve all to themselves. Quality deserves space IMHO.

The others I plan on displaying in battle sequences 'if' possible. Realizing that the space I have available to display them may not allow it.

This is a cool thread, guys! Many seem to really like the IKEA detolf shelves, and I have to say that I'm wanting some as well.

Feel free to post as much advice as you can, and the more links and photos you can share is the merrier If we get enough resources going, I can create a resource for us in the forum with all of the suggestions

when The private collection was on displaied. I had bought shelfing units from a kmart that was going out of buniess. It was nice cause I was able to display all the boxed items and what loose I have out nicely. what was also nice was I was able to adjust the sheving to what every high I wanted.

For when I do Show I was able to buy some shelving units from a blockbuster that was closing whats nice about them was the g1 toys boxes were just the right hight to fit on the shelving but those shevles were not adjustable. I had glass caseand the problem was I ran out of room fast in them. Plus I got good deals from the store when they were closing up. I have pics on my facebook page if you want. That's kind of how I have my MPs but the Takara MP boxes take up a lot of room. I have detolfs and the worst part is that the MP-04S box doesn't even fit in the shelves.

Here's what i did to customize my Detolfs to make the most bang for your buck! shave the sides and put 2 of them together. Instant custom glass display case for around $140 each!

Here's pictures of how i put it together

I sawed off the edge of the detolf boards before putting them together:



I drilled holes and used mending plates, bolts, nuts, and washers to hold the two pieces



Here's what the bottom side looks like



And now putting in the frame for the Detolf

Add the glass sides, doors, and top pieces!



Top bolted together just like the bottom pieces



See how small the gap is now between the doors in the front. I can barely stick my finger through whereas i could fit my whole hand into the original frame



Now all of my detolfs stacked side by side in pairs



Here's a pic after i added all the mending plates to all my detolfs and bolted down the detolfs to the wall using shelf brackets



And now my display room today!!
