I made a riser out of a pizza box. It was the lid of course, but what I did was cut the lid off, and make it the size I needed. One could do this with any piece of cardboard, but I just happened upon a pizza box with a plain, white piece of board to work with. I also just made it one level (meaning it's not the complex staircase-looking riser that we've been discussing).

j, I'd like to see photos of the one you got from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. That sounds cool!

I use the clear plastic boxes and lids from Ferrero Roche chocolates as makeshift risers. They're a nice size to fit most bots and easy to separate from their labels... and chocolates with the help of an accommodating lady friend.

Hahahah yeah. I've been using those for years to house cards & act as toy risers, and I'm pretty sure I've even posted about it on here before. Our Rocher army is growing!

I have a question pertaining more to my actual figures then my shelving.
I currently have shelves on both sides of my home theater. 4 on the left, and 6 on the right. They are the ones you get at lowes that are bracketless wall shelves. Anyway, I currently have 2 of each of alot of my figures. That way I can display them in robot mode AND alt mode at the same time. As you can imagine, this takes up more room then usual. I plan on taking down these shelves I currently have and building custom cabinets with shelves that are adjustable in 1/2" increments, which will allow me to put the shelves wherever I want, based on the height of the figures. My question is should I continue to display my figures with 2 of each, or should I sell 1 of each, and only display in robot mode (which is my favorite mode anyway) to free up alot more space?
Just looking for opinions.

Just think of them as calorie-packed biological "energon cubes"

Wow. Two by two. Your living room is like the Noah's Ark of Transformers!

It sounds like a nice display idea if you've only a few figures, but I can imagine that it eats up a lot of space as well as money. If it were me, I'd likely cut my collection down to single figures to free up space, sell the surplus and use the proceeds to buy more figures! I also think you should send me your list of G1 TFs first so that I can call dibs on my favourites.

That's what I am thinking too. And yes, it does eat up alot of space. Not so much money, cause I usually wait for sales. I don't have any G1 figures. sorry. Most of my doubles are DOTM, generations, RTS and HFTD figures.

I look forward to some of your e-bay listings.

For those who have black shelves like me;

Some random snack box turned inside out, contact glue and a black Sharpie. Looks like hell up close, but it works nicely:

Those look cool!

You can always take a can of spray paint in any color and just spray the whole box as well.

I use Plain white Shelving units from Target. Seems to project light better. I try not to put too many Transformers on one shelve, as to allow for a good view of the figure its self. I also those three tiered (step) kitchen soup can shelves to better display them. Seems to look good for someone like me who cant afford the clear cool @ss shelves :-)
