05Jan2013 Update! Everything has been changed for the New Year!

    About me:
I have been collecting since 2009. My primary focus is on characters that made cartoon appearances from 1984-1986 (the Transformer glory years of my youth).
However, I have dabbled into the Transformers Prime lines too.

    Old (2011):

This living room setup was spacious and clean. The lighting was great and it really impressed in photos.
However, being so open, it did not feel like my own personal space.
So, I made the hard decision to move everything to the much smaller den downstairs.

    Old (2012):

The den which is also the home office is very small in square footage. After the collection was moved in, it definitely felt like "MY" space.
However, it was pretty tight in there with the over sized office furniture. The carebear yellow wall paint didn't help things either.

    New (January 2013):
The collection is still in the den which is a challenge due to space concerns. But I have made a number of updates which include:
    - Repainted the walls to a more masculine colour
    - Added frames to the posters
    - Reduced clutter by splitting apart the 4 detolf cabinets into two on each wall
    - Got rid of the old office furniture and replaced it with a corner desk/chair that compliments the room in both size and colour
    - And of course, added more Bots to the collection!

    The room (January 2013):

I really like your setup, I've got 4 ikea cabinets too. What are and where did you get those "display stairs"?

I bought them from bed bath & beyond:
Copco Non-Skid Cabinet Organizer - Bed Bath & Beyond

They are 15" wide - perfect size for the ikea detolf shelves.

    Very nice!
    No love for Swoop?
I didn't realize Springer was so small, wow.
Loving the stairs, finally I found a solution for my jumbled display! Going to Bed, Bath And Beyond tomorrow.

Haha... ya, I need Swoop still.. was supposed to get it from that chump maxnewtoy... but we don't need to talk about that piece of crap...

The risers are more expensive in Canada than the US... $10.95. It really adds up after buying a few but I feel they are worth it.

The only reason I hate looking at peoples collections is because it makes me wish I had more then 3 G1 figures!

Nicely displayed. Very tasteful. I hate it when folks pile so many figures into a tight spot you cannot even tell what is what anymore. Good job!

I think this is my new favorite setup. I'm in the process of adding two Detolfs to the one Billy I have now. I'm definitely going to be stealing some ideas, especially since your collection looks pretty similar to mine. Thanks for posting these pics.
