08/14/12 - After buying a new HD camcorder, I decided to put it to good use and filmed my collection. Enjoy:

I recently added another three display cases to turn my TFs room into my TFs museum, so I thought I would take a few pictures to showcase the room I made for myself.

I get this question a lot, so I don't mind answering it on here at all.

The older, wider cases are unfortunately not available anymore as the company went out of business a few years ago (I would have loved to have everything matching). Those cases were around $800 apiece shipped.

The three newer cases came from KC Store Fixtures for $730 apiece before shipping. The company is local for me so I just picked them up in a truck and didn't pay shipping, which I'm sure will be quite a lot.

I have spent a lot on the cases, but I think they make the collection significantly more impressive. Certainly much more so than if I just bought some bookcases, or put shelves on the wall (although both can look very nice).

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

New room pictures. Detailed shots of the shelves coming soon.

The IKEA case is the NORDEN case and it is only available in store.

I also added 6 of their spotlights, 3 each in the top and the bottom wooden shelves.

as I said in my own thread...displaying is everything. I am actually thinking of doing the same with the swedish comics. all 7 of the first year but I think I can get them into one bigger frame.

I really like collections like this that are organized and great looking.

Brilliantly displayed, but it doesn't look like that much? Probably the neatness of it all :)  :thumbs2:

Beautiful setup, dude. Swanky. I've got mine displayed all over the place in here; if I had the extra space I would definitely do the cabinet trick. Damn nice.

Unfortunately the company that made the main cases went out of business. I actually contacted them about 2 more cases a few years ago and the owner let me in on the bad news. I've looked around and I haven't been able to find anything that big and that cheap, although a company here in KC sells some smaller ones for $620 that are very similar.

Excellent displays you have there!:dj  Definitely would like to see some close pics of your main case. Why drive 8hrs to Minnesota? Didn't the Ikea in Chicago / Schaumburg have that case you were looking for?

Fantastico! It's the kind of display I have envisioned for my own collection, which sorely pales compared to yours.

And the more times I see pics of that movie-accurate repaint of Unicron, the more I want one.

I want that Matrix statue thing too. Is that from Diamond Select?

It was easier to drive to Minneapolis than to Chicago, plus my girlfriend wanted to go to the Mall of America, which was an interesting experience. We made it up and back in 24 hrs, kind of a long, yet very productive day.

Being snowbound at the moment prompted this new thread and seeing how I am stuck in the house tomorrow, I will definitely be adding some detail shots to the first post. Be sure to check back

(oh and your TFs room is what I aspire to have one day. Custom, built-in cases on each wall, that is definitely the way to go.

    1) Absolutely, definitely go pick up a movie accurate Unicron immediately. They apparently are becoming hard to find and it is well worth the cost. I highly recommend it.

    2) Yep, that is the Diamond Select Matrix I believe. I picked it up to go along with the Prime head. I am kind of looking for the Bumblebee bust to go along with Prime and the Matrix, but it is sold-out everywhere. I do wish they had done Megatron instead of BB though, that would have been one I would have bought without question.

I absolutely love the way you've decorated your room and how the display really feels like decor. Excellent interior work - very inspiring :thumb
