Absolutely, and trust me I know how fast it runs out. I had a place of my own, and my collection at that time had taken up almost the entire second bedroom... By it, it was a small bedroom, but a bedroom none the less, lol.
sweet collection man. I am also slowly dipping my toes into the G1 pool. My first modern edition was a vintage shockwave and from there it really snowballed. Good luck- G1 had amazing alt modes (as seen by the ratchet pic, the bot modes not so much)
Thanks man I'm definitely excited for the G1 plunge. It's going to take me years to track them all down, but it's something I've always wanted to do. It'll be something fun to look back on.
I'm definitely going to go that route for a few of the figures, mostly ones with electronics or just a cheaper option. No KOs though.
Nice pics Matt, might I suggest you cheapen the hobby and pick up some 3rd party heads for Ratchet & Ironhide. Also I got the G1 itch too, applying the Hosehead & Prime cab reprolabels made me want some more GEEWUN goodness. Bricks or not, they're awesome!
I've always considered cheapening this hobby and picking up the add-on heads, but I actually kind of like the original G1 "headless" look. What I do need is reprolables though. That's a must.
Very nice my friend, wish i had a 'transformer' room. one day i will get a house and have a room dedicated to my collection, that way my wife will have her living room back. keep up the good work!!
I forgot which 3rd party heads I have but boy do they kick those figures up a notch. AND, they can be stored conveniently in alt mode.
Convenient storage space you say? Pics in meet up thread! The black shelves are cheap AND fantastic! I got them at Wal-Mart/Target for like $30. There terrific. Most recent addition: DSCF0001 by StayingInTheBox, on Flickr
I notice in one of your pics you have a cat. How do you stop it from going on the shelves? I got a cat recently and just keep the door closed because I know he'd just knock everything over when I wasn't home.
I think I'm just lucky to be honest. I have two cats and a huge dog (which the dog shares the room with me). I've never had an issue with them knocking things over. Every time I see my gold cat, the one you see pictured, eyeballing a shelf I just discourage him and redirect.
Love the lighting. Care to share where you got them? Congrats on the new home! And a baby! Congrats man. I've always admired your collection man.
