I prefer MISB all my reissues are MISB, I figure they are a limited quanity and I dished out some cash for these so they are staying in the box. Some other rare transformers are MIB right now just the dinobots. I started a loose collection to have displayed how I want.

 

If they have a battery installed/included, it's definately coming out and replaced after the removal of the batteries.

It really depends, if I have a heart to open it, I do, but I replace em back in boxes after I've tf'ed them and displayed for a bit. Lately I've been leaving them inside the box (batteries not included) because I don't have the cash to buy 2 of each, and can't bear to 'break the seal'.

It's personal preference, I'm never going to sell them so I don't worry about MIB MISB resale value. I keep them sealed for appreciation sake.

 

Keep 'em boxed. The packaging is half the reason to collect as it usually displays the toy in a very desirable manner. I know I always pick the best package when buying a piece for my collection...and it's not because I'm trashing the boxes.

 

thats what i have been doing is keeping them MISB because if they come packaged in vehicle mode it usually has a picture of their robot mode in front or back of the packaging thus vice versa if they come packaged in robot mode it has a picture of their vehicle mode

 

This is really the big debate with collectors isn't it?

For me, in most cases, I like to open the package up. While they look purdy in the box, some really shine outside of the box. This is especially true for transformers as they have multiple modes.

There has been case though where I can bring my self to open the package (masterpiece line) for fear of breakage or just because I like to have the figures in pristine shape. I have seen first hand how some toys will breakdown and fall apart...(Thanks very much MacFarlane toys...)

 

everyone is different, I would not suggest opening something really rare unless you do not care or ever want to sell?

 

I keep most sealed in the box and then buy additional ones to open of the figures I like most. I collect the boxes and box artwork as much as I do the figures. I do like to have a few open ones around to tinker with. I do open my masterpiece figures because they do not have a window on the box to see the figure. I like to be able to see the actual figure through the box window.

 

I like misb and mib because I like the toy in its totality, art, box design etc. I buy doubles when I must play with the toy.

 

I open them....can't display them right, in the box!
