I really like how you went about your display. Could you elaborate more on the shelves themselves? They look exceptionally nice! I especially like the glass doors!
He needs them otherwise he'll go all Eddie the Eagle and fly off the shelf. Cheers for the appreciation guys. Quad, I bought the shelves were from IKEA, about oooh, back in huh, photo tag says 2001. Which can't be right. Probably back in 2005 or 2006. They were out of production stock on a pallet in the IKEA warehouse, and I remember seeing them for £2.50 each. I grabbed one up thinking I could afford to waste that much if it was crap. Anyway I got home opened it, and went straight back to IKEA the next day and picked up the rest, 6 in all. I didn't even have any space for them at first, only space for 2 of them on some shelves I had. Years later once I moved into my house me and the missus always wanted to stick these up, and there is literally NO space at all between them on the left hand wall and the door frame on the right. Literally perfect. But yeah, back on track. I don't think you'll be able to find these any more, but they're incredibly simple, solid wood sides, top, bottom, and back, with a middle shelf that has three positions, high, middle and low held in place by metal slides that are hidden within the thickness of the shelf. I don't remember the name of these either I'm afraid. Edit Huh, the figures in the early pictures are Armada and Energon, BUT BT Smokescreen was bought afterward so there was no room for him IN the cabinet... so either 2002 or 2003. Shit that was a long time ago. Regular Sherlock me.
Ha, I spotted this old thread while looking for something else. Well because it's been a few years I may as well update it with a new pic. This is my living room display as it stands today. Mainly Optimus Primes, CHUG and Minicons with a couple of spots for Hot Rod/Bumblebee/Jazz and Alternator/Human Alliance. http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a574/tikgnat/Netstuff/14-08-13Display_zps5a0a7588.jpg There is a bigger picture, but Photobucket won't give me a direct link to the page... Inexplicably the pic is a bit blurry, and the last pic I took killed my camera battery. Whups. I'll try and take a nicer picture some other time. Maybe in a few years.
The mini- Optimus Prime that came with Stratosphere would look like a speck of duct on the top shelf.
