I originally started this thread in 2006 for "bragging rights" on various hauls.

I've since expanded it to include pics of my TF toy collection as well as vintage TF mdse. and other odds and ends I've found since the 80's.

I'll begin with a haul from July 2006.

I'd just gotten a new digital camera at the time, so I didn't have much experience taking still photos. Thus, some of these are tad fuzzy and some with too much flash At any rate, I hope you enjoy the gallery:

Got all the above in a trade for Cybertron Primus with Unicron head.

    Pictured:

G1 Metroplex with parts and box
    G1 Trypticon
    TRU Reissue Ricochet w/Nightstick MISB
    G2 Jolt
    BM T-Wrecks
    BM Ultra Jetstorm
    BW Noctorro
    Armada Skywarp w/Thunderclash and Box
Energon Prime with Op modules 1 – 4 (no trailer)
    Energon Omega Sentinel
    Robot Masters Mirage
    RM Starscream

There's also a gray mini-con at the bottom of the pic (foreground) I haven't been able to ID yet. Turns into a little racecar. Any help? I can follow-up with a close-up pic unless someone's already guessed it.

Metroplex's box is a little ragged and the toy has some plastic rot, but I'm glad to finally own one, especially since I got this entire haul for the equivalent of $50:

I loves me some dinosaur TFs:

Omega Sentinel and Trypticon play a little game of "Noctorro Tug-O-War":

These Robot Masters are my newest favorite additions to my collection. They're a little cheap and flimsy, but so on-model with the G1 series that I can't help but like them:

I wish Hasbro would do more vintage/classic sports car TFs, like Cybertron Downshift and this G2 Jolt:

Jetstorm really annoyed me on Beast Machines, but I really like the toy. Here's my first attempt to transform it without instructions. And honestly, the "third leg" was unintentional:

This one, however, was intentional -- note the mini-con pointing out the obvious:

Third attempt, I just gave up and let T-Wrecks vent my frustration for me:

Coming up next, pics of my Dragon*Con 2006 haul, and eventually photos of my single greatest haul ever from November 2005.

Thanks. Makes sense because my friend had promised Armada Thundercracker in the deal too and then forgot to put it in the box.

I figured someone would ask, but I guess saying it twice in advance just wasn't obvious enough. :throw

Sarcasm aside, were you thinking I might have not made a wise trade? Even loose, I'd say this haul is worth at least $150 and that's a low estimate. It'll take a MISB Primus 5 years plus before it even comes close to matching that value, even with a Unicron head.

Yeah you definitely got the better end of that deal. The Metroplex alone is worth at least the $50, probably a good bit more.

Wow, nice haul. I would have swapped just for trypticon then went and bought another primus with unicron head as there's still plenty of those around here, I didn't think that primus was that rare.

But yea, that is a freaking awesome trade in your favor.

It makes some sense that you'd get a good deal on a Primus with Uni-Head back in July, but dayumn. If I'd known I could get a ton of crap AND Metroplex and Trypticon for one, I'd have bought the four Primus figures I saw at K-Mart back then. Good haul, it was worth the wait to show it off.

That's an awesome haul for only $50.00. I still need Omega Sentinel myself.

Holy crap. I'd think Omega Sentinal would have been worth more than Primus at that point, as Omega Sentinal was a rarity even when it was out, and Primus was still beginning to filter into the stores.

That is one AWESOME trade you pulled off. If only my trades went that well.

In this case, timing was everything. I met the guy through the Yahoo Group "GA Transfans" and we have a large concentration of fans who live in the Atlanta area. We help each other out with local TF sightings and get together on occasion.

This guy who trades w/ me had moved in with his girlfriend last November and they discovered they had too much stuff between the two of them for their apt. Their mutual agreement was that he would get rid of some of his "overstock" TFs and she would get rid of some shoes (apparently she had far too many, but I thought that was fairly common among most women).

Since November, we've done a few trades together and I always feel like I'm ripping him off because he offers so much more than I do in the trade. But it seems he just sees it as downsizing and doesn't seem to mind. And it's always been his call on what he was offering in the trade.

For this particular haul, he sent me a list of some 30+ TFs and told me to pick what I wanted for Primus. I only picked a few, and it was entirely his decision to throw the rest in. Originally, I was just going to buy his Trypticon, Metroplex, and Omega Sentinel for about $45. Then Primus released and we decided to trade instead.

Odd thing is--he didn't even care about the Unicron head. He just wanted Primus. And apparently his gf told him that the only way he was bringing a toy in the apt that big was if he got rid of a bunch of stuff in its place.

Oh, I'm just suprised that such a deal took place. How old was the guy? Was he old enough to be a fan of G1 but that was some pretty awesome stuff he gave up.

The fact that he was willing to let go for Trypticon, Mextroplex and Omega Sentinal for US$45 is also insane! LOL! I'm just amazed that such a transaction could take place.

I'm in my mid-30's (I was 13-14 when TFs debuted) and I'd guess he's probably late 20's/early 30's. I'll ask him next time I see him--we're doing another trade shortly for an extra Alt Meister and Cybertron Menasor I have. Can't wait to see what he's offering in return--he's always way too generous.

As for the $45 deal--in his words, he needed some quick cash at the time and just didn't have time to try finding a buyer elsewhere, nor the patience to deal with listing on ebay. Then he found out about Primus and wanted it more than the cash, I guess. I certainly didn't mind, although for a while after the trade I was worried I wasn't going to be able to find another Primus w/Unicron head.

Oh ok, you're in the same age group as me. Most G1 fans are around that late 20s-mid 30s age group so I'm sure you must have enjoyed your haul. I would have done the same thing if I was in your shoes too.

To borrow a quote from a TV show from our early childhood, you bet your sweet bippy I enjoyed it! I just wish I had a place to display them right now. I took these pics on our living room couch on an off-day while the wife was gone. She'd have gone ballistic if she'd seen the mess I made taking all of them out of the box.

And just wait til I post pics of the haul from November 2005 from a trade with the same guy. It's mindblowing, I tell you. Not in the history of TF hauls have I ever seen a trade like this. The toy gods smiled on me greatly that day.

    Christmas 2007 Haul

    This is from Christmas 2007:

    Pictured above:

    - SDCC Exclusive Nemesis Prime (thanks again, jon3pnt0! You actually shocked me with this insanely generous gift. You rock!)
    - G1 Monopoly (from mom--big surprise and shock from this one too, since mom picked it out herself without even asking. I think my wife might have dropped a hint though.)
    - Reissue Tracks (also from Jon--we actually traded for a few things, but I still consider this a gift)
    - Movie Prime Christmas stocking (mom)
    - Classics Devastator (also Jon, who picked one up for me on clearance in Memphis when I couldn't find one in Atlanta)
    - G1 Playing Cards (I think this one was from Jon too)
    - Movie Barricade vs Bumblebee (another one Jon tracked down for me when I couldn't find it in Atlanta)
    - Movie stickers and Holiday ornaments (mom)
    - G1 minibot keychains Cliffy, Brawny, and Windchargy (jon)

And a close-up of the highlight of my entire trip to visit my family in Memphis last Christmas:

    Thrift store hauls

Some members around here know that I'm a thrift store/flea market/yard sale junkie, and I especially love cheap finds like these. These were picked up at various locations since January '08:

    Pictured:

    - Energon Unicron--thrift store price: $2.98
Loose, no accessories and missing half the chest plate. But minimal scratching and tight joints. And should be adequate for my Death Star Unicron custom project.

    - Energon Omega Supreme--Goodwill price $2.72 (you can still see the price tag hanging on it)
No head, unfortunately. But it's in absolutely fantastic condition. I don't think it was ever even played with.

    - Armada Powerlinx Optimus Prime--thrift store price .59!!!
In fine condition, and I think the electrics still work too. Now to hunt down the rest of the parts and accessories I need to complete the set.

    - Energon Sky Shadow
Y'know, I think this one got in the pic by accident. My bro Jon might have given it to me because I don't recall buying one loose, but it was in the same bag I took the rest of these from. I still have one MOSC I got on clearance at Walmart.

    - Armada Red Alert--thrift store price: .59
It's missing an arm, but should prove plenty useful for kitbashing.

    - Armada Powerlinx Jetfire--thrift store price: .59
I hated myself for passing on this when it was in stores, and all because I thought the head looked too goofy. Now I just have to track down some parts.

    - RiD Prowl--thrift store price: .15
Hated that it's missing an arm, but otherwise it's in great shape and practically a steal for 15 cents.

Here's another pic of the same group with the price stickers/tags still intact, just in case anyone's a doubter:

    More to come...
