    Collection update 12/02/17:

Gone through and tidied this up, updated photos and commentary... it's still predominantly g1 but with a few more recent editions. Still no more space so just cramming more in all the while. Enjoy!

In the usual manner (due to my lack of display space) I have had to swap out some of the old for new additions, on this occasion out go figures from Return of Convoy and Operation Combination and in comes the special teams/g1 combiners - as I mentioned might happen last time around. I can’t bring myself to remove the vintage KO of Landcross from the cabinet so that is staying for now but added are Superion, Defensor, Bruticus (Ruination from RID actually) and the Stunticons with a Vector Sigma and circuit key accessory from the Toys r us reissue of MP10. As you can see, the Stunticons are strategically placed around Vector Sigma to recreate the scene from The Key to Vector Sigma where the supercomputer gives them life. The Stunticons are complete and are from my childhood. Defensor was put together piece mill from ebay and Superion is courtesy of tfw2005 member Seeaich. All are originals. Included with Bruticus are WST Starscream and Justitoys WST Shockwave. Screamer is there to recreate a scene from Starscreams Brigade and Shocky is in to recreate the bit in The Revenge Of Bruticus when Bruticus uses Shockwave to shoot all the Sentinal Drone units. The Battle Patrol and Rescue Patrol sit atop the Landcross KO. Added Titans Return Alpha Trion, Top Trumps and a copy of VHS 'The Key To Vector Sigma' & 'War Dawn'.

As well as the Vector Sigma add-on, I have added quite a few other accessories to complement my figures of late and add more a g1 toon flavour to my display. First up, I picked up the impossible toys spike and sparkplug figures to go in with my season one Autobots. Spike is riding in Hound to recreate the scene from 'More Than Meets The Eye part 2' (I believe?) where Hound takes Spike for the ride of his life and Sparkplug and Bumblebee work together to scupper Megatrons plans to harness enough energon at Ruby Crystal Mines of Burma. I have also added my childhood VHS copy of 'Arrival From Cybertron' which features Those first 3 episodes from the 'toon. My original Optimus Prime is now complimented by a die cast matrix, I believe from the RTS release of OP. Mirage and Cliffjumper are accompanied by some energon cubes to homage the scenes from 'Traitor'. I now have a kabaya windcharger in here as well as a WST Reflector by TFW member Ninjahandz and leader class Jetfire for a more cartoon aesthetic figure; he stands with Brawn and Windcharger for when they worked together in episode 'Fire On The Mountain'. My KO Wheeljack has been replaced with an original.

    IMG_7172.JPG

WST Grimlock is still chewing on WST Skywarp as featured in 'S.O.S Dinobots' but is now accompanied by his team mates. I have also added an unopened pack of panini stickers from the eighties. I do have the completed sticker album that accompanies these stickers from when I was a kid but this is not on show. WST Soundwave is lurking in the shadows from 'War Of The Dinobots'. WST Autobots are rolling out to recreate the scene from most episodes where Optimus gives the instruction...

    IMG_6943.JPG

On to my Decepticons, most of which are season one centric with the exception of an igear Autoscout from the season two episode 'A Prime Problem' & takara legends Nightbird from 'Enter The Nightbird'. I bought some energon cubes off eBay to place in front of the insecticons for a homage to 'a plague of insecticons'. I have removed the marvel summer special collecting issues 1-4 of the U.K comic which used to sit in the background; as much as I love the cartoon there were so many great stories in those comics and they are as much a reason why I collect the toys. I have issues 1 to 311 of the U.K comic if memory serves. I have replaced it with an original toy catalogue. Due to space limitations on this shelf Devastator appears with the season two cast...

    IMG_6697.JPG

Season two now features a little diorama of Devastator holding a heerotoys WST Optimus prime from 'City Of Steel'. This is a new-to-me Devastator. This is a better quality toy than previous but still a KO featuring Junkion Blacksmith add ons (courtesy of fellow TFW board member Banjoted). I have also added kabaya powerglide to the scene where Omega Supreme comes under attack from the conehead seekers and does a flyby to warn OS of the imminent attack in 'The Golden Lagoon' which happens to be one of my favourite episodes. My Justitoys WST Blaster now sits alongside Tracks in a homage to 'Making Tracks' and there are a couple of Kremzeeks that came with the recently acquired igear Autoscout here as well.

On to my movie shelves and I have recently added the spike in Exo suit figure from the MP21 toy - I think it looks more like Daniel TBH and as such he represents Daniel in my display. A kabaya Choco wheelie and Cyclonus are also in here now as well as a titanium series Ark toy. WST prototype Tracks and WST Red Alert ride on WST Ultra Magnus to recreate the deleted scene in the movie where they all take on Devastator. The marvel U.K winter special movie adaptation that featured previously has made way for the OST CD.

    IMG_6436.JPG

The second movie shelf now includes a kabaya Choco galvatron and a WST hot rod playing out the final battle inside unicron. I have also added a Legend heroes Q's Judge (quintesson judge) and a copy of the movie DVD until I can get hands on my original VHS copy of the film.

    IMG_6717.JPG

The final space in my detolf's is predominantly season three figures but a few other figures have started to creep in here... seeing as S3 centres around Metroplex and Trypticon they take centre stage. Octane now lines up alongside Trypticon as they did in 'Thief In the Night' and Runabout and Runamuk are included from 'Ghost In The Machine'.

    IMG_7173.JPG

On the top of my detolf's is where the most significant changes have occurred. Most recent additions are the devastation cast masterpiece transformers and some old and reboot diaclone pieces, not all of which are pictured. There is also a Doubledealer hiding around the side!

Loads of other stuff that I don't have space for including some TR - collection is now at just over 300 pieces and starting to take over!

    No significant changes.

    collection update: 24/03/16

Swapped out the hm's, tm's, jumpstarters, battlechargers and predaking in favour of a japanese themed shelf so now I have a star convoy reissue, dagbase (remould of grandus) and death garry gun (remould of sky garry) front and centre on this shelf. The scramble city combiners are likely to go here instead shortly...

I also have the battle patrol and the rescue patrol on the top of a mib vintage landcross ko I picked up recently. I have also enjoyed picking up the reissue micromaster combiners six liner, six turbo and six builder (six builder is misb so have left them that way and only the one box is displayed). Just need to get a six wing when I can locate one for reasonable money. I am not too bothered about getting six train as have six liner.

    collection update: 04/02/16

I am more or less finished populating the cabinets with figures but I would really like to make the bottom shelf in the 2nd detolf just predaking, sky lynx from series 3 or metroplex and trypticon five faces of darkness but I am a bit cash strapped to afford Sky Lynx right now so the tm's and horrorcons, battlechargers and jumpstarters will remain for the timebeing but they are more than likely just placeholders for season theee cast.

    P1010550.jpg

The top of the cabinet now see's the various other leaders from the series including the japanese show as I find these figures fascinating particularly star saber but SS, Deathsaurus and Dai Atlas are all KO's.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    collection update: 05/12/15

Added 2nd detolf and started adding balance of my collection.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    November 2015:

Took delivery of my first detolf (with a second on the way) so started populating the cabinet with my G1 figures. Some of these are my originals from when I was a kid but many are those I have added since and these are a mix of more originals, reissues and a few of the high quality ko's (where figures are harder to come by like wheeljack, reflector, etc.) This is with the exception of devastator, which is a really dirt cheap ko and this will be replaced in due course.

I imagine the display will change and evolve as I add the second detolf and start filling that with the rest of my G1 collection.

I will then dig my RID/Car Robots collection out of the loft and display these somewhere as well.

    Thanks

Thanks for the comments. Obviously not a patch on some peoples collections but then I am not going for everything; 84-86 will be the main focus and even then, I am likely to be selective. I am feeling the urge to broaden this though & get some target masters & headmasters as well. When I was a kid they were the last tf toys I remember being into before girls and rock music took over.

I pick up my second (and final) detolf tonight, all things going to plan... My wife won't let me get anymore than this and that instruction will also make me choosy about what I add. Nostalgia is a big part of it for me so if it does not resonate with me then I won't get it.

    More pic updates soon hopefully!

I'll cross my fingers for your plight to buy Detolf 3 and 4 :)

All this G1 goodness is making me anxious to get mine setup again sooner than later.

Thanks for the comments Turbine027 but I fear there will be no more detolfs for me unless I win the lottery and can extend the house!

As it happens, it is collection update time once again so please see the photos for the most recent changes...
