Beast Wars Second (BWII) Episode 01: The New Army is Here! Summary

Lioconvoy and Apache patrol outer space. Apache loses control of his ship after joyriding. Lioconvoy manages to save him, apparently at the cost of his own life.

At the Cybertron base, Bighorn, Scuba, Diver, and Kid are playing games while Apache drowns his sorrow of losing Lioconvoy by drinking. A distress call comes from Artemis and Moon through Navi concerning Destron forces landing on Gaea to steal the planet's Argonmoa Energy.

The Cybertrons board their ship and head off from Gaea. Unfortuantely, the Destrons were waiting for them and their ship is attacked as they approach the planet. Before the ship is destroyed, the Cybertrons jump in their respective escape pods. The pods land on different sections of Gaea, thereby separating the Cybertron forces.

As Kid's pod lands in a desert-like area, he is thrown from the pod. His internal system informs him that something on the planet is toxic to his form, so he has to scan DNA from an animal to protect himself. Before he finds something to scan, he dreams of having a cheetah alternate mode and an eagle alternate mode. As Kid is about to scan an eagle, a Tasmanian devil jumps on his optics and inadvertantly scans the devil. Thus, Kid becomes Tasmanian Kid. In his new beast mode, Kid sees the Destron ship off in the distance causing death and destruction. He goes off to investigate.

Tasmanian Kid encounters a body of water that he won't be able to cross. Suddenly, a talking frog jumps out of the water! It's Diver, in his new alternate form. The two slowly move across the water, with Kid riding on Diver's back. As they cross the water, they are suddenly surrounded by tentacles. A body raises them out of the water. It is Scuba, in his new squid alternate form. Using his jets, Scuba propels the three across the water. On land, they meet up with Apache and Bighorn. Respecitively, they have acquire a mandrill and bison alternate mode.

The Cybertron group finds the Destron ship and attempt to attack it by first jumping on the ship. Unfortunately, they encounter the ships defenses. The ship sends a paralyzing pulse that prevents the Cybertrons from fighting back. Starscream, BB, Dirge, and Thrust from the Destron forces come out of the ship and begin to attack the paralyzed Cybertrons.

Out of nowhere, a white lion with a golden mane jumps on the ship and destroys the Destron ship's defense system. The newly freed Cybertrons attack the Destrons briefly, before jumping ship. As the Destron ship crashes, the Cybertrons follow this mysterious white lion away from the ship.
