No. Just because a few people feel sour towards animated doesn't mean the world shares their opinion. Beleive it or not, most kids actually like that style of animation.

It's only fair some won't like it, after the uber-realistic-ness detail and PG-13-goodness of the movie it's hard to go back to the kiddie style so soon. (Though it'll have been roughly a year since when it hits)

This will not hurt the franchise, it will solidify it. Cartoon is hurting in the rating, they want the next titans. Since the movie I've noticed kids calling all robot toys transformers instead of zords. The momentum from the movie alone will get people to tune in. They will stay because it'll be a good show.

It may not be everything you want but if you were 9, you'd skip dinner to watch it.

I doubt it since a Transformers movie #2 is in the horizon. If the new cartoon fails to deliver then it fails I don't think it will spell the demise of the franchise. Its hard to tell if the new TF toon will be a hit or not. I myself is not a fan of the Jay Leno type drawings and ala Batman animation style characters. If one things certain its not going to be a classic like G1.

mean

You mean a show that will pull in more children as a fanbase? Oh noes, more audience, more product, and more money will indeed kill the franchise.

I think it will keep the "dream" alive and be the G1 to kids these days, that will be on boards like this in the future.

Yeah I feel the same way too. I am just glad that it will not hurt the franchise overall. Thanks for the honest answers and I am glad we can still look forward to more Transformers in the future regardless. I was just thinking about it because of the overall comments.

Of course not. Kids will like this thing, so they will give Transformers a push on popularity.

Older fans like us will still buy the figures, keeping Transformers alive.

I think you have misunderstood the original post in that the assumption is that it does not do well. The opposite case which is probable as well would obviously be financially and goodwill inducing to the Transformer brand.
