DaVinci would be proud. His flying machines transform and look absolutely amazing in bot mode. The alt mode is also a great take on the original designs. I wish I hadn't missed out on Awakening but am stoked and cannot wait to see the other three in hand. ![]() The road to success is always under construction. |

And he basicaly confirmed Peaugh's analyses of the thin walls and smaller parts being the main cause of the perceived plastic problems. Also, they are moving to a different type of plastic (polyropylene limbs/body, with ASB/nylon joints) to compensate. Now they are using ABS and ABS/nylon joints, and since Styrene (ABS) is a very ridged plastic it seems a bit more fragile than it is. PP is a softer plastic and therefore has more flexibility, and feels less fragile, but since it is softer, it will also ware faster than ABS. Also, the fans seem to prefer it to ABS. Hence the move from ABS to PP. Nylon lends flexibility to the Styrene without giving up much in strength, witch makes it ideal for the joints. However as different plastics shrink differently as they cool the mold needs to be tooled for the specific type of plastic (to make the joints the right size once cooled) and the seekers are tooled for ABS. So, these changes will start to be applied to the Hexatron mold. |

News Credits: 196 | It's possible I missed an update. Email from August mentioned November as an estimate for Hextron, but there were still updates (possibly the above) but that he should be out for the "holiday seasons." Which i guess could conceivably extend through Chinese new year. Click here for all of my videos! My Feedback Thread |

Those test shots where supposed to be final protos, but it turns out there where some serious issues with the ratchets in some of the joints and a couple of the alt modes where a bit loose so it needed a retool. Kinda stinks, but that's what prototypes are for. |
