Well, I do like Springer. Absolutely. However, I actually don't like him better than my 3P figures, and I'm actually in the market for a Warbot Defender, and a local has offered to sell one to me for 50 since I bought Steel Core off of him. So far Springer is easily the best Generations voyager. He doesn't have much competition from his earlier linemates.

I'm only going to give a chance to Hasbro voyagers for the time being. However, I'm writing off deluxes completely. With their current quality, I'd have a hard time swallowing even 10 bucks for them.

Springer hastak ver had two go arounds at it..

I have no doubt if FP re did Springer he would be on par with the hastak ver..

Ones a few years old...the other is pretty recent..

Kinda like comparing a new mustang to an old one......not entirely a fair playing field..

    :/

And when FP's Springer came out it also had a couple of years on HasTak's. So I guess 3P figures suffer from the passage of time as HasTak's figures.

It's funny that when someone makes a negative comment about a figure that someone's bought, the later is often pissed. I mean, is this about the figure or about you? Are you feeling guilty that you are spending more that you should have? If not, then how does any negative comment affect you at all?

I have bought a lot of 3rd party figures and never in one occasion do I think any of them is close to perfect because if they are then there won't be any possibility of future improvements. I also accept that I may be overcharged by these 3P companies, but so what. It's my money, it's up to me if I want to burn it.

This Roadbuster is way better than defender. Hastak is gonna have to knock it easy out of the park on their version.

All I know is I haven't bought a 3p figure yet that has made me go "well gosh wish I waited for this cheaper hasbro figure instead".

Dunno why so many people bring up Defender when he was what 3 years old when Gen Springer came out? And even then Gen Springer was a freak accident of awesome that came out of nowhere and Hasbro quickly killed the potential of being repeated by firing the guy responsible for that very figure. :lol

Like I've said before I'm sure Hasbros Roadbuster will be fine and sure many people will enjoy it, will I need it myself? nah when it comes to characters I only have a passing interest in I only get the version I think is the coolest and I'm pretty confident FP's will remain as that. Unlike Defender he has no flaws to really bother mentioning and with RnR on the way his play-value and accessories being shared between the three versions of the figure will be amazingly awesome.

I bought this plastic Hardass because it looks fantastic, appeals to my aesthetic tastes and comes with FP's rep for high quality. Sold.

I've got absolutely no interest in bashing Hasbro or 3Ps for the sake of it an take each figure I buy on a case by case basis. Companies like FT, PE, MMC ( this is becoming an acronym fest) and FP get instant interest in whatever their proposed products are because they have earned that interest with solid product. Others like UT still have a lot of work to do convincing me they deserve to be taken seriously (that new Glavy may do it) but none of that means I dismiss a Hasbro product until I've had a chance to judge it myself.

Springer kills Defender, he just does. And there's no shame in that. At least a 3 year difference in design and as most acknowledge Hasbro really had to up the state of their game to achieve him. Firing the guy that did it for him does sound like a very dumb decision going forward but that's something for the future to decide but my comment was "if RB is as good as Springer...." I'll get him. That's IF. If not, I have Revolver covering that potential gap.

Maybe people want to take their own temperature about how some comments come over to others on this sort of topic. Passion is fine, appearing to want to get into a fight that doesn't need to happen at all isn't so cool.

I hope Hasbro makes a fucking Storming Roadbuster so that those who can't/won't get this are taken care of too.....and I get another version of my Favourite Strong and Silent war machine.

i think this part needs to be posted and quoted all over these forums. lol. i can't say i'm always innocent but in general i try to respect other people and not get into fights. debates are one thing...bashing people's opinions is another. like i said i'm not without guilt but lets all keep this in mind and tfw will be a better place.

Am I going crazy, or did I already miss this figure? I'm a member on fpcore and I didn't get an update, and I can't find him for sale or even sold out anywhere else. Is Revolver available yet?

You're not crazy, just behind the times.

It has not been officially released. Two Hong Kong shops got a very limited stock (around 100 pieces total combined, i believe). These were sold to local customers, with a few online from those that emailed/FB messaged the stores. It's not listed on Chimungmung because its sold out, it's not listed on Action Robo because they don't have a website and dont usually sell through FB. There's no update on FP Core because they haven't gotten theirs yet, and neither has any other north american retailer.

General release is expected to be end of Feb, March-ish due to Chinese New Year

It sounds like there was a limited Asian release, but the mass release is being held up by the typical Chinese New Years slowdown, so full production will resume in March.

That's the problem with early release stock, confuses the heck out of some people which is why I've stated repeatedly that I and some others here got theirs from Tony who had a very limited number literally up for a mere few minutes before they were gone.

So when Peaugh posts that he's received his, he too got him from Chimungmung from Tony's early batch, so don't freak out. :lol  Revolver hasn't technically released yet, those of us who did get him already were incredibly lucky to do so.

Never even saw any of these pre-orders out ever. FP sure takes a big risk to produce before pre-orders are even taken by the retailers. But i guess they bet once on Steelcore and now are relatively confident they will be able to sell.

I can't wait to get mine. Looks awesome

It was signposted in the Revolver thread for best part of a week that Action Robo had them early and the only way of getting them was by getting in contact through their Facebook page. Awkward way to do it I know but a few of us did manage contact with them that way. It was also in the thread for at least three days prior that Tony Chi was going to get a small batch in too and again some of us were counting the minutes down til his order went up.

His stock actually lasted about 11 hours at least, order page went down then went back up again 24 hours later when presumably he got some more/found a box in his closet and that lasted the "mere minutes" before it too went.

Action Robo still had enough in stock after 4 days to actually offer me one ( I'd jumped on the Chimungmung train already) so anyone paying the thread a visit over a 10 day period would have had more than a chance at one and would have known the score. Hardly the "blink and you lose" stuff that goes on trying to get Sideshow or Bandai Macross stuff.

The whole reason I joined this bored after years of lurking was to get the heads-up on precisely this kind of info.

And as this was only a pre-release bundle I would imagine FP have all their potential orders from various retailers lined up so know exactly how many they will offer out and produce. As it's FP it's a fair bet whatever size of run they make will sell. All their stuff does.

So, as has been said quite a lot already, no-one needs to feel left out just yet because you will have weeks/months to get hold of one to come.

Limited early release was to build hype and let it simmer over CNY break. Having fiddled with mine for a few days, I can say the hype is wholy justified.

I wonder how much of the markup was due to having to pay for rushed mfg or shipping. I paid like $140 USD shipping from HK to California. Regular release is prolly 80-100 before shipping.

People will have plenty of opportunity to get this at the regular price at about a month.

You think inventories will last weeks? Seems like someone reported BBTS expected to get theirs all spoken for shortly after preorders go up.

It should last weeks or longer. Defender, Assaulter, Code, UUUU etc were all available for months. Smart Robin and all of the Menasor guys are still available. Even the more limited FPC exclusives were around for a reasonable amount of time - 2 weeks for the Glacialbots and a full month for Steel Core. Many of those were more anticipated than Revolver, so I don't see him selling out any faster than the rest of his FP brothers. :)

FP rabid fans never give up and keep spreading the myth that "FP products sell out in seconds, or a week". It's no longer true. Sorry that you only buy FP products but it's been a while since FP's the only game in town.

Heck, the initial stock for Warden sold out in less than a week and it's not an FP product.

FP products have almost never sold out instantaneously. I don't know who claimed that one.

The only ones that come to mind are the rather limited releases of Shadow Scyther, Code and Steel Core.

But then, it seems to be that they allow for bigger production runs than many of the other groups, so there's that.

Just got him today. Wow, comparing this guy to Diesel is like night and day. Intuitive transformation, sturdy joints, reinforced stress points, and smooth hinges with just the right amount of resistance. Diesel is a display piece. Revolver is an action figure.

(Albeit a $100 action figure, so I'll still be using kid gloves.)

Edit: Oh, and it's probably been noted elsewhere, but his wheels and treads fold under in alt mode for a makeshift hovercar.

How about Toyworld's things, at least on TFS? Sold out pretty fast.
