Bovis is the first release in the highly awaited Mastermind Creations Feral Rex NotPredaking combiner.

First off we have a classy box with opening window display. First thing you will notice once you open it is just how freaking HUGE ovis is!! Like really really BIG!!

The figure has some great weight to it. This is high quality plastic with ratcheted joints and tight ball joints.

The articulation Bovis has makes him one very expressive figure. The neck can be popped up to allow even more head movement. Same thing in bull mode.

One of the strong point Bovis has is its big size. Here are some size comparison with MPs, Classics, Combiners and other 3P figures:





















Time for some Bull mode love... Once I got how a bull moves, posing in this mode is being super fun. Before I was posing it like a freaking cat lol







I find I like the alternate transformation better. Gives more back muscle and legs the legs have a more natural movement.

The Uranos limbs are taller in leg mode but Uranos has short upper legs. Leo Dux can extent its upper legs to become taller when combined.

I was surprised to see that Bovis has tight joints to hold his huge gun. With a little balancing one can get some very cool poses:

This figure is really FUN!! Can't stop posing it and doing crazy things with it! I have not handled a figure so much in a long time.

In short: Awesome figure. Everything locks. Super posable. Great finish. Fantastic plastic. Now THIS is a 3P TF worth every penny!!

 

Can you see his robot face in bull mode?

 

You can flip it aroud so that you don't see it when you open the mouth.

 

Oh, so when the mouth is closed, you can't see the robot face if it's not flipped around?

 

Yep.

 

Awesome. I'm still debating if I want this one or the TFC one.

 

As for nitpicks about the figure:

- The hands don't hold the blade weapons like they should. I can't have the fists wrap around the handle.

- The in and out movement of the wrist could be a little bit tighter.

- Feel like the ball joints in the hind legs are not as tight as the ones in the shoulders.


Again, this are just little nitpicks on an awesome figure.

sadly mine arrived with paint rubbed off the chest, im hoping psx will sort this as im gutted.apart from this issue its one of my fav figures! loads of fun like youve said! alot of bot for your money!

 

Griffith76, the MMC design engineer, said in the FR thread over and over and over that these guys were designed to be fun to handle. Yep, he was right.

 

Hmmm is it still possible to get the other team member for this?

I'm tempted, but would have to go back and get any I'm missing ( just one other isn't it?)

 

Shade this is the only feral rex member out.

 

There are only two other members up for preorder that are to be released in the next two months. Leo Dux (the torso) and Talon (arm).

Its amazing how much character they injected into this guy. The posability, and dat face somehow makes him more emotional than most takara MPs! Really feel bad for UT and TFC. I have no interest in the predacons but the awesome execution of this one might sway me to invest in the team. Mad props, MMC
