It occurs to me that BBTS is almost certainly waiting for the redesigned heads to arrive before shipping their allotment of Battle Tankers. Certainly if they got their allotment late enough that news of the fix had already filtered out, it would be much wiser to hang onto their Battle Tankers and ship the fixed head simultaneously, even if it means losing some sales to retailers who're already shipping theirs. Shipping them seperately means making sure everoyne gets theirs, dealing with people who moved, fielding calls from people who broke their Primes anyway, dealing with shipping (which costs money) etc etc. Much easier to just warehouse the stuff for a few weeks.

That said, it would be even wiser to inform their customers of this if it were the case.. so I can't exactly paint them as blameless if they lose a bunch of sales. And of course if it winds up shipping with the original head and no fix, that certainly sinks this theory.

But it makes sense. It's what I'd do, minus the not telling anyone part.

This almost happened to me. I checked the ball joint after popping the head on and found stress marks along the edges of the ball. The head was fitted on so tight that it wouldnt turn. I decided not to force it.

What i did was to tilt the head up to reveal more of the ball in front. Then used the hair dryer on the joint at the highest setting for a couple of mins till the stress marks became faint. Cooled it down then tilted the head to the front and repeat.

For some strange reasons, my ball joint was partially "healed" of the white stress marks and it can also now turn freely at the head. Astounding because all i wanted to do was to rid the joint of the stress marks.

Obviously the important part is still not to break it before you had a chance to use the hair dryer on it.

    Hope this helps.

Got my Battle Tanker from Captured Prey yesterday.
    Love this thing!
Trailer is waaayy more complicated than I was expecting.
Quality is right up there with FP Protector.
I didn't have the nerve to swap the head. I'll wait for the screw-on head
My only crit is that the cardstock for the box is a little thin. And my LED popped right out of the hilt when I tried to pull the red blade off to re-pack.

I thought about doing this, but I'D also be afraid of taking too much off and having a bobble-head

I keep adding this to my pre-order list and taking it back off... there is something about it that looks off mainly in the chest area. I dont know if it's because process didnt swap the head but I keep trying to convince myself to buy this :lol

First off, that's not a great photo reference.

The United version's partially painted shoulders and biceps can make his arms look long and skinny, despite the large shoulder pylons. The new waist armor adds mass, but does nothing for the chest, making him look a little potbellied, and the smaller head only exaggerates that.

It looks much better in person, but I'm going to stare at it a little longer. I might give the armor to RtS Prime.

I was wondering if BBTS' slower release would wind up coinciding with the replacement parts. Glad to have that answered.

Interesting. I'll be receiving the Appendix parts in a few days with my second shipment of Tanker. Appendix parts will be mailed to any prior customers who want them, and will be sent with the set going forward.

I'm sorry to hear that some are having issues with their Battle Tanker heads.

Mine is fine, though. Maybe I can help those who are about to receive their kits, so here's what I did for the installation:

1.) I filled a small glass pot with a minimal amount of purified water, covered the pot, and set the stove on maximum.

2.) Once the water started to boil steadily, I let it do so for 10 seconds.

3.) Once the lid was taken off the pot, I placed the new head in the water for 1 minute, turning the stove off once the head had bathed for 30 seconds.

4.) With my right hand gloved, I extracted the head from the hot water bath, and quickly installed it onto RTS Prime's ball joint neck. It easily attached with a satisfying click.

I've had the set since TFsource received their early shipment of it, and I've had no problems.

    I hope my advice helps.

Okay, so apparently BBTS will have the new head with their shipment....so theoretically, if I just put the new head with the screw on, it should fit on the original ball joint correct?

I did. took a scissor (I was at werk)....and rounded out the head a little. Head popped in....moves freely..not too tight....not too loose.
This is temp until we get the head fix. I never understood the whole head boiling....u heat up...it expands...it cools downs it contracts...well tries to contract back to it's original form...right?

I'll be sending out a blanket message soon to everyone who got one so far so that you can each reply to that if they need or want the new head parts. That will make it easy for me to track requests properly.
