Okay, I'm starting to warm up to this thing, but I have a couple of questions. Can someone please take a pic of him with Classics/United/Henkei Megs and is it possible to plug in G1 Soundwave's shoulder cannon in Sonicron's shoulder cannon port? If I get Sonicron I'm thinking of putting my G1 Soundwave in his altmode and placing him with my Masterpiece figures, so he won't be missing a battery too much, right?

OK. I've read the whole thread - all 180+ posts - and I had to take double and triple and cuadruple takes at the pics because I don't get the complaints. Geez!

Yeah. The legs are wide due to a gimmick. And yeah, the gray tab in the waist is an eyesore, but other than that this looks like a pretty cool figure. It looks like it can go toe to toe with G1 Soundwave, which even to this day, is still a beast.

The heads - both of them - look pretty nice.

And the chest - while slightly on the larger side due to another gimmick - is not as crazy big as some people claim.

As the original poster said, plastic quality, while lighter than Hasbro or Takara stuff, is similar to Fansproject's. That to me is a compliment.

And the knee articulation "problem," depends on what you consider a knee. To me, the figure seems to have proper knee articulation and reverse mid-thigh articulation due to the transformation.

The colors are amazing, and all the details are top notch. In fact, it looks amazing next to G1, WFC & Music Label Soundwaves. It belongs with them.

Glad I didn't cancel my preorder. Can't wait to get mine.

Alright, got my Sonicron from BBTS today. Box was crushed (by UPS), Sonicron's box was crushed... but Sonicon was intact. Sadly, the figure doesn't deliver. Floppy joints, the lower legs don't want to stay closed together in alt mode, arms don't really want to lock in either... I hope they do a second run to fix all the problems because the detailing is superb, the transformation sequence is cool and the robot mode is pretty good (save for the hinge).

Sorry to ask again, but could some please check and see if Sonicron can use Soundwave his old shoulder cannon?

Saw the horrible and inexcusable joints in the video reviews. The waist looks like it could snap right off during transformation. In the Prime video Sonicron couldn't keep its arms up, and in the Siebertron video it wouldn't stay up at the waist. I am very interested in this, but can gladly wait until these issues get fixed.

since this poor guy has gotten such bad reviews, I felt I had to take some pics and say my piece. first of all, soundwave is my favorite decepticon, and I've got a ton of soundwave figures. also, music label soundwave and his headphones were one of the few figures I've ever purchased, only to turn around and resell right after opening them. I just really didn't like the simple, not-very-detailed design of that figure.

as far as this one goes, I was actually able to transform him to player mode and back without any stress marks on the leg tabs. that being said, the little backpack part did get those stress marks, and make a white mark around the hole on his back. it's part of the nature of the type of plastic they used. it's very hard and non-pliable.

I was the first to cancel my preorder once I saw the little grey flap on the back from that waist hinge. however once I saw pics showing how posable he is, I re-ordered. while, yes, it is a little platform, you get over it real quick due to the amazing detail in the rest of the figure. the overall posability is great, there are tons of molded details, and the quality of the tampos on it are amazing.

it's also important to note that it's easy to overlook fully extending the waist. I didn't realize it extended, and once I did I saw how it helps to transition from the wide chest to the skinny hip area. the arms are quite posable, and as long as you are patient, you can get them in tons of poses. they won't stay in place if you pick him up and shake him, but by angling out the shoulders, you can get them to stay by friction up against the body.

here are two pics to show how well he fits in with a modern classics/3rd party collection:

I've just got around to opening mine. After playing around with the figure for a bit I wanted to share my thoughts, though I expect I'm echoing things already said here.

I think the design is capital-F Fantastic. I really liked the design when I first saw a sketch of it and I think BTS Toys did an amazing job adapting it into a figure. He fits perfectly with the Classics-style lines.

It's very poseable, too, if you have some patience. And once I had the figure in hand I didn't find the "kibble" to be even remotely annoying.

The problems I have are entirely with the quality of the figure. I see some have already mentioned stress marks on the "backpack" clip thing - I've transformed him only twice (once to alt mode and once back) and not only are there stress marks, but it hangs kind of loosely on the back already.

The head pops off far too easily. I know it's supposed to be swappable, but if I turn 45 degrees or so it just pops right off.

On mine the left shoulder fell apart when transforming him from alt mode to robot mode. Nothing is broken on it, but it appears the screw that was used to hold the two halves of the shoulder together was just too short. Thankfully I had some lying around from other figures I've disassembled / repaired / whatever and found one that fixed the problem.

Last, and I know this is subjective, but he just feels so... light. It feels like very flimsy plastic, especially on the legs in robot mode, and the rapid appearance of stress marks in some spots has only added to that impression.

I don't have any of my original G1 cassette figures anymore - at least, none that I can find - but I was a little bummed to find out that while it is possible to fit Universe Ravage (the one that came with Universe Hound) into the tape tray when open, I can't get it to close.

In robot mode the joints seem to be pretty decent (aside from the aforementioned shoulder) with a good range of motion and, as everyone has seen in the photos, a very impressive range of motion. He holds poses well.

The alt mode was a little tricky to figure out - the folding of the legs in particular isn't shown by then instructions; it makes it seem as though they slide - but once it was all in place and snapped together it felt pretty solid. My biggest concern is that, with the rapid appearance of stress marks on the backpack piece and other similarly designed tabs, the parts will break with repeated transformation.

Bottom line is that I wouldn't recommend the figure if he's expected to get heavy use, but he makes for a great display piece.

I just got mine in, too.

There's certainly a number of flaws in the actual engineering. Some joints could be tighter, some clips could work better. Could've used another pass.

But mostly, it's just tolerance issues, and they can all be fixed with a small amount of time.

The one real issue with the figure is ergonomics. There are a few places on the toy where you need outside tools to transform them properly, which is a big no-no in my book. The folding peg on his shoulder gun, for example, is buried too deep to actually get a finger in there to pop it out. There's a panel on his rocket launcher that has a fingernail divot that's too small to actually put a fingernail under, and then, when you do actually flip it around, there's no divot on the other side for you to be able to flip it back.

I enjoy the figure quite a bit, otherwise. The attention to detail in alt-mode is just amazing, and the 'bot mode does look pretty good if you get it in a decent pose (his awkward proportions being exagerrated more in static poses).

Still no replacement for Cybertron Soundwave in my Classics ranks, but this is a neat, fairly inexpensive novelty.

I think it's worth the $29. It'll grow on you.

Yeah, I went searching for this thread when I saw the $29 too. Given what I read on just this last page, I'm leaning towards passing.

    It's definitely worth $29.
You need to tighten the joints a bit, I know I had to but after that it's pretty solid.

So i just got mine in the mail. Mine does have a working eject button and seems to fit together and transform nicely. the legs are a pic wonky and the ball joint for the head could hold better but I really dig this figure. mine also has knees that work fine and go both directions. Have also had no stress marks and the back pack fits snuggly but comes off easily. Now the question is what to do with the extra head

I got this figure as a Christmas gift, and I really like it. It doesn't come without problems, though, so be warned:

The type of plastic really feels cheap. I think if BTS had used a higher quality of plastic, much of the problems I have with this figure go out the window.

The design of this figure and what it sports flat out rocks. :rock

I have no problem with the actual transform design (I quite like it, actually), but this is a major point where this figure suffers with the quality of plastic used. Transformed properly, the whole system for the waist doesn't stay fully extended without a lot of effort on my part. This just shouldn't be. This feature should just extend/retract properly and be a non issue.

I must have just gotten a bad run of the mold, as my head can't even turn without popping off. The neck joint is situated far too low to properly accommodate the head. I will have to uninstall and install a totally new neck joint.

I totally agree here, and, again, this is my major gripe with this figure. The plastic on the shins especially feels like the thin, brittle, cheap plastic found on KOs. The peg connector points feel like they're going to snap off at any moment.

Aside from the floppy legs and waist, I agree.

Getting everything to snap in together can be a bit of a chore (especially while trying to be careful not to chip the clips off), but this is what I enjoy the most about this figure. My wife even said the alt mode is "really neat. I like that!" :)

Yep. For $30, I feel like it's worth it for the most part. Anything more than that? Naw. There's always Cybertron Soundwave :)
